N'vanik

N'vanik

"Well, well... Isn't this interesting," Traelyn grinned as she walked in from Loseth's ledge. "You're actually not drinking this time. It's not often I see you without a glass of alcohol in hand...unless, of course, we're in bed." Her expression was positively impish as she approached him.

"I told you I was cutting back," N'vanik said as he put his book aside. "I have better ways to fill my time." Grinning, he pulled her down onto his lap.

"Mmhmm..." she brushed the tip of her nose playfully against his before leaning over a little peer at the cover of his book. "Like reading? What _are_ you reading? I don't recognize the title."

"Aren't you just full of questions?" He said, pulling her a little closer.
"It's an adventure story. Lost in the jungle, stalked by deadly felines, that kind of thing."

"I didn't know you liked that kind of stuff." Turning back, she grinned down into his face. "So no lusty bouts of sex in this one, I take it then, huh?"

"I don't know. I still got half the book left." The bronzerider smiled.
"There could still be sex. Sweaty, hot jungle sex."

"Just the way you men like it, isn't it?" she asked, her tone wry as she settled herself more comfortably in his lap, hands resting near his hips.

N'vanik tilted his head. "Oh, don't pretend that you don't like it too."

Her smile was slow. "I'm not pretending anything, N'vanik." Leaning forward, she kissed him lightly on the lips. "How come you never told me you liked reading?"

He shrugged a shoulder. "I didn't think to mention it."

"Oh." Rolling a shoulder, she tilted her head slightly, mimicking his movement exactly. "Well, I like it too. Not that I get to read much...
But when I do, it's hard for me to put whatever it is I'm reading down..."
Then she chuckled. "Shards. It's obvious I've had a bit to drink tonight, isn't it?"

"For a good reason, or a bad one?" he asked.

"A good one." **For once.**

"Hmmm," he looked thoughtful. "I wonder if I should grab a bottle and catch up, or if I should just enjoy you being tipsy."

Traelyn tossed her long, pale hair from her eyes. "And what do you mean by _that_, hmm? Plan on seducing me, bronzerider?"

"It _would_ be a nice way to spend the evening," he said. The fingers of one hand moved up and down her back.

"Mmmm. I certainly wouldn't mind letting you lead this time." A knowing smile twitched at her lips as her fingers flexed on his hips.

"Well, alright then." In one quick motion, he got up from the couch, lifting Trae as he stood.

Her arms went around his neck, her fingers playing with the hairs at his nape. "Let's take our time..."

After a lingering kiss, he said, "I was thinking the same thing." N'vanik carried her to his bed and laid her down on it.

She shivered slightly as his arms left her, and she plucked at the hem of her blouse as he gazed down at her. **His hair is getting longer,** she thought idly, shifting her hips. Meeting his eyes, a grin whispered across her lips. "You gonna stare at me all night?"

He smiled. "No." Sitting down on the bed, he took off her boots; first one, then the other. Then he slid her pants off, slowly, and let them drop to the floor. His smile widened before he bent down to kiss along the inside of her thigh.

Again, she shivered. Scorching shards... Letting out a soft noise, she silently cursed him for being such a sharding _tease_. And if he wasn't careful, those silent curses would get rather vocal.

Her skin was smooth and hot against his lips. He knew it was driving her crazy, and he was thoroughly enjoying it. Moving higher and higher along her leg, he suddenly stopped, pulling back just enough to keep from touching her, but still close enough that she could feel his breath. Then he shifted and began kissing his way up her other thigh.

"When I said we should take our time, you sure did take it literally, didn't you?" she growled breathlessly, fingers grasping his hair.

N'vanik chuckled. "Yep."

She raised herself up on an elbow, eyes bright with alcohol and lust as her fingers rubbed the back of his neck, sliding down past the collar of his tunic, stroking his shoulder. "Damn it, N'vanik..."

"Should I go faster?" he asked, his tone teasing.

"If you don't want to get bitten..."

"Hmmmm . . . that sounds like fun." His hand slid along her leg to her hip as he moved farther up the bed.

"You sure love all kinds of adventures, don't you? Adventures in books, in sex..." Laughing, she moved to kiss his neck, hand still buried in his hair. "Maybe you're addicted to them?" Slowly she began to unlace his tunic.

"I'm not addicted. But I do like excitement." He looked down at her hands and lifted an eyebrow. "I thought you wanted to go faster?"

"The wine is getting to my head," she muttered. "Scorching laces..."
With an impatient snarl, she yanked at the hem of his tunic, trying to pull it over his head.

N'vanik laughed. "Let me get that." He removed his tunic, tossed it aside, and then took hers off as well. "Should I let you struggle with my pants, or should I be nice and take them off for you?"

She wrinkled her nose at him. "I think you should be nice to me." Then her smile turned wicked. "'Cause, you know, I'm going to be doing the most glorious things to you..."

He started to undo his pants, but took his time. "Are you sure the wine won't impair your performance? I think I have the advantage here, and I'm willing to prove it."

"_Impair_ my performance?" she affected a miffed tone. "I think not. And you can _try_ to prove whatever advantage you think you have, N'vanik--but I think that's all in your head." She tapped a nail lightly against his temple before leaning down to trail her lips along his skin.

"I think a little competition is good for everyone," he said, his fingers gently rubbing the back of her neck.

"Yeah...I think I remember you telling me you liked your women with a bit of fire in them." Traelyn slid a lean leg over his hips, her hand wandering over his hard chest down to rest low on his abdomen. "So come on, bronzerider," she whispered. "Prove your 'advantage'."

N'vanik looked at her in the dim light, a slow grin spreading on his face.
Grabbing hold of her leg, he turned and pushed her on her back. He began kissing his way up the inside of her thigh again, faster, and this time he didn't stop.
