"So, what do you think old man," U'kaiah asked teasingly, tossing his freshly inflated waterball towards at the greenrider emerging from the water. "Do you think you still have it in you to play waterball? I seem to remember you enjoyed a good game back in the day."
"Old!?" E'naer protested. "I've always enjoyed water sports, just ask some blueriders," The greenrider smirked. "Well, there might be a little of that two, but not until after the game," U'kaiah chuckled. "Come on, E'naer. I haven't seen you play waterball since after your scoring, and you really were quite good."
"It took a while of my shoulder to recover and retain it's mobility and then... I just haven't gotten around to play," E'naer answered. "Well, then now's the time. We have a couple sevendays before our first match. It's about time you got back into the water." U'kaiah knew that this friendly tournament was just the thing to get himself back into the game as well. Though he had kept up his practice routine, his heart just hadn't been in it. The bronzerider actually was getting excited about practicing again, and at the possibility of competing, even if it was just for fun.
"It is, isn't it," E'naer agreed. "I just hope I am not too rusty." "Ah, its just for fun anyway," the bronzerider reassured him. "And there will be plenty of other green and blueriders from the other Weyrs to meet and make... friends with."
"Mmmm, yes, and the after game party? Don't you forget that." "That's where most of the friendliness takes place," U'kaiah chuckled. He knew why a lot of riders were signing up.
"Yeah, best part of the whole thing," E'naer said with nostalgic look on his face.
"So will you play on the team then?" U'kaiah asked, giving him an encouraging smile.
"Sure, why not," E'naer replied. He was actually getting rather excited about it. The bronzerider grinned. "Well, how do you feel now? What to throw the ball around a little?"
"Well, I don't have anything scheduled for the next candlemark, so why not," E'naer grinned.
