"How are you liking the weyr Aidiata?" Marithi asked, she meet the girl during chorse and she seemed a little lonely.

"It's big." She said softly. She had large eyes framed by a mass of chaotic curls.

"IT is big, have you seen the coves around here yet?"

Aidiata shoved a stray curl for her line of sight. "I haven't really strayed far from the Weyr." She said quietly. She didn't want to admit that she was waiting for her friends to do so. They had found it easy to make friends here, while she had had no such luck. She felt as if they had totaly forgotten her. It made her miss Guliuka all the more.

"My son and I are going this rest day. I'm sure Woeth wouldn't mind company." she offered.

"I wouldn't want to impose." She gave a small smile. "I'm sure you ahd plans with him and wanted time with your son. I wouldn't want to be a bother."

"You wouldn't. The only time my son spends with others his age is when he works with the weyrlings. At that most of them are older than he is."

"Thank you. I'd like to go then. IF your sure it would be no trouble."
She would like to see something other than the inside of a weyr.

Marithi waved the problem away. "None at all. M'tias needs to get out and so do I. It would be nice to have someone come with us. You have something to swim in don't you?"

"Yes ma'am I do." She smiled softly.

"Remeber to bring it then."

"i will." She smiled softly. "Thank you. I can't wait. It should be fun."

"Not a problem." Marithi found it odd, how much easier to was to talk to the youngerster of the weyr than it was others her own age.

"Thank you for being kind to me. I came here with a few friends, but they seem to have moved on. They don't talk to me much anymore." She really didn't know why she had told this person so much. She didn't know her well, but it seemed as if she did. It was strange.

"People can be that way. One thing chages and that's it. They don't even know you anymore."

"I just wish they would talk to me agian. I miss them." Se said sadly.

"Have you tried talking to them?" Of course Marithi would never have dome so but that didn't mean the girl couldn't.

"I've tried, but they are always busy." She sighed.

Agian, giving advice that _she_ would neer in her life have followed. "WHy not make some new friends." **Like my son.**

"It's hard. most the girls are to busy trying to catch a boys eye. Most the boys don't notice me because I'm not beautiful. I didn't know the weyr could be so complicated."

"Being beautiful isn't allways a good thing. Then all boys notice is your looks." Marithi sighed.

Aidiata giggled. "I wish they'd take the time to get to know me. Maybe your son will like to get to know me." She sighed with a small note of wishful thinking.

**I'll make sure of it.** Marithi thought to herself. "I don't think it will take too long."

Aidiata smiled. She had already inadvertantly made a friend. Which was a start for further friendships to come.
