Z'al was practically skipping as he glanced into the infirmary. Zamley was on his shoulders. He had told his sisters to meet Kirra in the weyrbowl. Nyinth was waiting patiently. His sister and her green had agreed to take half of those going on this little venture.

Z'al maneuvered through the doorway and looked about. "Jozia?"

Jozia looked up from what he was reading. "Z'al? You came to the right place to get rid of that growth on your shoulders." He reached up to take Zamley and spin him around.

Zamley giggled. Z'al chuckled, "Shall we meet the ladies. You know we will be out numbered today."

Jozia looked at him and smirked. "How is that different from any other time you and I get together?"

---------

Kirra couldn't help being mildly nervous about meeting Z'al's family, especially his son. What would he think of her? Would he like her?
**What am I thinking? You love kids Kirra! It _will_ be fine.** She saw a green at the meeting place and assumed it was Z'al's sister.

"Hi, I'm Kirra. I've seen you around but we haven't had a chance to meet."

"I'm Kiada and this lovely green is Cryalth. It's nice to meet the young woman that has finally settled my brother down. I've never seen him so happy. Wait till you meet Mom. That's the next place he'll take you."
She smiled warmly.

"I can't wait!" she said sarcastically with a playful glint in her eyes.
"Where are the boys? Late, as usual?"

Z'al smiled as he came up behind her. "Right here of course. We aren't late your just early." He looked around. "Alright, everyone here? Looks like it. Kirra this is Kiada my elder sister. These two young beauties are Ada and Leeda. Leeda is the younger one. This is my best friend Jozia. We grew up together. And this little man is Zamley, my son." He said as he took his son from Jozia's arms.

Zamley took them all by suprise. He glanced at her and a smile lit his face. "Purdy wadey." He held his little arms out to her. Z'al's eyes widened and then he smiled. It seemed his son already liked her.

Kirra couldn't stop the tear that fell down her cheek as she pulled Zamley into her arms, hugging him. She moved him to her hip so she could see his face. "And you're the most handsome little man I've ever met!"
She looked up at Z'al and winked, "Looks like your father will start having some competition if he doesn't start calling me nice names."

After handing back the squirming boy to his father, Kirra looked to Jozia, "My weyrmate has been very adamant about us meeting." she gave her hand out to the healer, "It's always a pleasure to meet a close friend of Z'al's!" She talked formally but Jozia could see the spark of playful happiness in her eyes.

Jozia stammered "W.. w.. we... weyrmate!!" He looked at Z'al. "Z, did you forget to mention something? Last I heard 2 days ago you said she was a friend."

Kirra's eyes flared for a moment but then she just laughed. "So you called me a friend? Apparently my definition of _friend_ is very different than yours Z'al. Should I wonder about your relationship with Jozia here?" She winked at Jozia and smiled warmly at the man she loved waiting for him to get himself out of his situation gracefully. "I said I wished for him to meet the one who had stolen one of my most prized items." he smiled as he took her hand in his empty one. "My heart. It is not my fault he is jealous. He wishes to steal your love from me. He wishes to sabotage our love with a word. I shall not let him have you my dearest." he held her hand to his heart as he said this. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he turned on his friend. "Your scheme has been found out you tunnel snake." He handed Zamley to his sister as he faced his friend, in good fun. "What say you?" He winked at Jozia.

"Are you sure you want to challenge me? The only thing you were ever able to beat me in was a footrace." Jozia teased.

"Okay boys that's enough. Let's get going." Kiada rolled her eyes at them. She turned to help her sisters up onto her green, after having handed Zamley to Kirra again. "Hold him for a minute. Those two could be at it a while if we don't stop them."

Kirra smiled and nodded at the older woman as she took the little boy into her arms. She watched the two friends for a few moments, and then sighing she put her available hand on Z'al's upper arm, tracing his muscles with the tips of her fingers. "Z'al, hunny, why don't you two do this after the picnic? I would like nothing more than to see you prove yourself to me, but your son and I are hungry." she pouted playfully as she waited for him to answer.

Z'al turned to her and grinned. "Well, Then I shall prove it to you by thoroughly dunking this black hearted tunnel snake. But, first I must tend to the love of my heart. Okay everyone lets get going." He smiled as he made sure everyone was seated comfortably.

They were soon in the air and /between/. Both dragons came out above a secluded and beautiful spot. They slowly circled in to a landing. They were allowing their passengers get a good view.

Kirra squeezed Z'al around the waist relaying her love for him and appreciation of the beauty before her. This was going to be a fun day, a day celebrating her and Z'al becoming weyrmates, nothing could dampen her mood.

Jozia took in the scene and two things came to him rather quickly.
First, he thought the view was very beautiful. Second, he learned that heights did not agree with him. As soon as he located where the ground was supposed to be, he retched.

Z'al smiled a bit as he watched his friend. "I forgot you were not comfortable with heights. Are you all right?"

Kirra looked at him sympathetically, she was glad she wasn't afraid of heights. She hoped he would feel better once they landed.

Jozia didn't trust his mouth open at the moment. He quickly nodded that he was fine and simply hoped they would land soon.

Z'al made the signal to land. As soon as they were on the ground he made sure everything was unloaded, including people. He then sent the dragons off to spend time in the water. He left Ada and Leeda to watching Zamely while he began setting up the picnic.

Smiling at the dragon's in the water Kirra led Jozia to a blanket that was spread out on the sand. Gesturing for him to sit down she walked to one of the basket and retrieved two mugs and a skin of cool water. She winked at Jozia as she returned, pouring him some water. "Here drink this, it will help to wash out the taste in your mouth and settle your stomach."

Jozia accepted the drink and drank it quickly. "My thanks. I'm starting to see what Z'al sees in you." He attempted a smile, but with the slight discomfort remaining in his stomach, it ended up looking more like a grimace. "So, how did you two meet?"

Kirra smiled at the memory, "In the infirmary, I was bringing a message to someone who was in the bed next to his and stubbed my toe, waking him. As I nursed my toe we talked, and he invited me to spend time with him once he got out of the infirmary, I agreed wholeheartedly, and it just grew from there."

"Was it just one time in the infirmary? I don't recall seeing you there at all, and Z'al was under my care." Jozia looked puzzled and hoped that his memory wasn't starting to escape him.

Kirra nodded, "Yes it was only one time, I remember he said something about having a healer friend that was taking care of him, that must have been you."

"Isn't one time plenty." Z'al smiled as he came up behind them. "How could I have let this beauty escape. She saw me at my worst and still seemed intrigued by my charming self. I also am a sucker for beautiful smiles."

Kirra pulled him down for a kiss and gave him a winning smile, "Did you finish unpacking the food? I'm famished!"

"It's all set out. Why don't you two come on over and have a bite." He smiled lovingly at her.

"Sounds good to me," she turned to Jozia, "are you feeling like eating or do you want to wait? I think there are some crackers over there, that might help settle your stomach." She blushed at herself realizing she just told a healer how to take care of himself.

Jozia smiled walked over to the repast. "Well, I can tell that Zial didn't prepare any of it. It smells rather tasty." He looked out of the corner of his eye to catch his friend's reaction.

"Of course I didn't. The nice ladies in the kitchens did." He teased in return.

Kirra walked to her man and poked him in the ribs, "Yep, Z'al's quite the charmer, he seems to be able to get those ladies to do anything for him."

Jozia settled himself on the ground and leaned against a large rock. Not quite trusting himself to eat anything just yet, he reached into a pocket and pulled out his little flute. Without putting much thought into it, he started playing a romantic tune.

Kirra smiled and grabbed some food, not really caring what she got because she had yet to find something that Z'al liked but she didn't. And with the music in the background and wonderful food all around, they all settled in for a wonderful time. Z'al couldn't be happier with his life then at that moment, when all those he loved were right there together. No, life couldn't be better.
