Description: Ava doesn't make the best first Impression on the Weyrlingmaster Second.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 11, day 9 of Turn 3

Ava woke up when Mindath's demanding calls finally broke through the wine-induced slumber. "I'm coming, I'm coming..." she muttered. Her head was pounding. "Shards and shells," she cursed and got up. She realized she was still wearing a gatherdress. I was rather worse for wear. She
tried to remember what had happened. Impression, check, her brother's surprise visit check, hurried move to the weyrling barracks, check, then celebration, check... Lio pouring her more wine, dancing, talking, laughing, more wine and...haze. No memory how she get to her bed.

}: Ava! I'm starving! :{

"I'm coming, I'm coming, Mindy," in her hurry, she was stumbling and tripping over bundles and bags people had left on the floor. She got outside. The light hurt her eyes and she winced. She made it to the feeding place. Seeing the raw, chopped meat dripping there, was too much
for her stomach. Kustaava just made it across the corner before the last nights supper came up. Her sudden sickness alarmed Mindath.

}: HELP! My rider is dying! :{ Mindath cried frantically. She could feel what Ava was feeling but couldn't interpret it and over-reacted.

Dwarkanath alerted his rider to Mindath's distressed cries. **Tell her I'm coming!** M'galec called to his dragon as he dashed across the Werybowl to find the downed weyrling.

}:Don't worry little one,:( the bronze crooned softly. }:Mine is an expert and he will help your lifemate. Everything will be all right. M'galec is on his way.:{

As the bronze's rider ran around the corner, his boot slid on something slipper and wet and it almost sent him flying. Luckily he was able to regain his balance but not quite all his pride. Still panting for air he took in the scene. Gather dress splattered in wine and vomit, squinting weyrling clutching her stomach... "I take it you would be the
dying weyrling?"

"Yes," Ava groaned. She did felt like dying. She never had hangover before.

"You're not really dying, are you," M'galec said as he crossed his arms across his chest.

Ava wiped her mouth into her sleeve and winced. Well, the dress was pretty badly ruined already. "Probably not, feels like it though," she admitted.

"Ah ha," M'galec nodded. "So let me get this right... Last night after you fed your dragon... and I _assume_ she was fed adequately... and once your little green was asleep, for I _assume_ that she was not left alone to fall asleep, you went and drank yourself into a stupor and, passed
out on your bed, and finally was awaken by a hungry dragonet at which time you left the weyrling barracks and instead of feeding her, you lost your dinner. Is that correct?"

"I fed her until she couldn't eat anymore and she was safely asleep when I left her. I didn't mean to drink that much. It's my brother's fault. He kept bringing me more," Ava said with defensive tone.

"Your brother's fault. I see," M'galec nodded. "And where is your brother? Should he not be here to feed Mindath? I am sure she is starving by now."

"I have no idea where he is. And yes, I should be feeding Mindath, but you're keeping me from it," Ava said, rather pertly. She was feeling too wretched to care or to think what the consequences would be.
Besides, now that Mindath was convinced she wasn't dying, the dragonet was sure she herself would drop dead out of hunger any moment now.

"Me? No! I am not keeping Mindath from being fed. Your _brother_ is keeping Mindath from being fed. After all, this is all his fault. I shall have to find him and give him a lecture on being mature and accepting consequences for your actions. After all, since your actions are your brother's responsibility, and you seem to have no control over
your _own_ decisions, I think it only fair that your brother also take Mindath as _his_ responsibility. He should be here to feed Mindath."

"Good luck finding him," Ava sneered and tottered over to the waiting meat. She started to chop suitable pieces for Mindath.

}: Well, finally, I thought you would let me starve! :{ Mindath said when Ava tossed the meat into her jaws.

"Sorry about the delay, Mindy, but you know I wouldn't let you starve," Ava replied her. She wasn't used to talk in her head only.

"Weyling, _I_ will feed Mindath now," M'galec said taking the bucket from her. "I am not so sure you are not going to throw up all over your dragonet in the next few minutes. Now I want you to go back to the barracks, wash off in _cold_ water, and for Faranth's sake, change out of that dress. So far your little green associates her rider's smell
with vomit. I am hopeful that is not your _usual_ scent, is it?"

Ava glared at him. Shards, Mindath was _her_ dragon, he had no right... but he was wearing the weyrlingmaster's second's knots. "No, it's not my usual scent," Ava answered sullenly.

"Good," M'galec nodded. "Remember, _cold_ water. Hot water is liable to make you sick again."

"Yes, sir!", Ava glared again and started to stomp off back to the weyrlingbarrack.

}: Ava? Ava! Where are you going? Don't leave me! :{ Mindath's mind voice was becoming agitated again.

Ava stopped and turned back. "She doesn't want me to leave."
**Shush, it's all right. I'm always here, I just go for quick wash and change of clothes."

}:Don't worry, little one,:{ Dwarkanath crooned, }:Yours just needs to get changed and cleaned up. She will not go far, and she is always with you.:{

Both reassurances calmed down the little hatchling, so Ava could go inside to clean herself up.
