Hayreith saw the young green splashing in the water and moved closer. }:How are you Limentrith?:{ he asked joining the green in her splashing. He liked talking to the newest weyrlings as they always had questions for him.
}:Hello Hayreith! I'm fine. Do you like the water?:{ she replied eager to talk to the older bronze. He always answered her questions and talked to her when her rider was busy.
}:I do. Is your rider nearby?:{
}:S'ric's not far away, why?:{ she asked concerned that there was something wrong.
}:My rider is lonely and could use a friend. They know each other don't they?:{ Hayreith replied. C'lor had been distant lately as his body was still not quite back to normal and it might never be. The bronze was worried about his rider and wanted him to have someone to talk to.
}:I think so. I'll ask him, if you want me to.:{ she said eager to keep talking to the bronze.
}:I'd like that.:{ Hayreith said splashing the green with his wings a bit.
S'ric was watching his lifemate as she played in the water with an older bronze and wasn't surprised when she asked him if he knew Hayreith's rider. He and the bronzerider had met when they were both candidates and C'lor was just moving into the Weyr. It was horrible what had happened to the young man in the big accident several months earlier. **Tell him that I'll keep his rider company.** he told the green as he headed over to where the bronzerider was lounging in the sand.
C'lor heard someone approaching, but he couldn't see who it was from that far away. His eyesight was still cloudy enough that he wasn't able to work with the weyrlings yet. He had nothing to do except care for his dragon and hope that he would be able to do something for the Weyr instead of simply being a drain on it.
When the figure was close enough for him to recognize, the bronzerider grinned. He liked Br'nick's son and was glad that his bronze had started talking to the young green. "Good morning, S'ric. How's Limentrith?" he said as the weyrling joined him in the sand.
"She's doing well. Hayreith seems to really like her."
"Why wouldn't he as she's a beautiful dragon? How're you adjusting to being a weyrling? Is it easier having been raised in a Weyr?" C'lor asked curiously as he had a lot of things to learn that some weyrbred weyrlings had already known.
"It's not that different from being a candidate, except for that green beauty out there. It's hard to remember that I don't have to talk out loud for her to hear me."
