~~FLASH BACK~~
It had been a perfect day. The sun had been warm and shining down on
them as they played in the waves and lounged in the sand. As Ravyan
happily busied himself digging little pits in the sand, U'kaiah and
Aileyan had traded soft caresses, long looks, and quiet whispers about
exactly what they wanted to do to each other once the sun had gone
down in between the little boy's trips back and forth to show him the
treasures his digging had unearthed. Even after they had scrubbed the
sand and salt from their bodies and sat down to the evening meal, they
had found little excuses to touch each other, exchanging glances that
carried unspoken promises. They both kept on eye on the candle,
counting down the marks to when they could finally put Ravyan to bed
and have the night to themselves.
U'kaiah took a turn reading a story to the boy while his mother
readied herself for bed, but it fell to Aileyan to get him to sleep.
The bronzerider's teeth were brushed, his pajama bottoms on, his face
scrubbed and had pulled the covers down to the bottom of the bed as he
waited for her to come through the curtain into the sleeping area. He
heard the soft scuff of her feet. Turning the glow in the corner down
low, he turned to look at her from across the bed. "Is he asleep?"
"He is, finally," Aileyan replied, standing on her toes to reach to
embrace him. She had an absolutely lovely and perfect day. U'kaiah for
herself for whole day, no duties or drills. Tomorrow there would be
both but this day was not yet over and she was enjoying it.
With her slight frame it was easy for the bronzerider to lift her into his
arms. U'kaiah nuzzled his nose into the hair behind her ear. "You
still smell of the sea," he murmured softly as he moved them both to
the bed. Hitching his knees onto the mattress, he let her down slowly,
feeling her body slide against his until she was kneeling on the bed
before him. Drills and duties could be damned when he looked down
into those eyes. He relished the idea that they would be getting very
little sleep this night as he took her face in both his hands and gave
her a long, slow kiss.
Aileyan responded to the kiss and soon expressed her impatience with the slow.
It was hard not to respond to Aileyan when she was in such a mood.
Hands wandered as kisses grew deeper and more heated. One hand buried
in her hair as the other began bunching her thin nightgown, inching it
tantalizingly higher. U'kaiah was more than willing to follow her
pace.
Aileyan was definently feeling lustfull and picked rather vigorous
pace. She barely remembered to keep it quiet so not to wake up her
son.
It was hard for U'kaiah not to encourage her to forget the boy as very
soon she was on her back, legs wrapped around him to signal exactly
what she wanted. Her urgency fueled his own. He lifted himself up
with one arm as the other searched for the ties to his pajama bottoms
when with the change in vantage he caught a slight movement out of the
corner of his eye and froze.
Aileyan sensed the freezing. "What?"
U'kaiah deftly pulled her nightgown into place and grabbed a pillow as
he rolled off her. He nodded in the direction of the boy who had
wondered in passed the curtain as he covered the evidence of his
excitement.
"Oh, no," Aileyan whispered very quietly and hid her face against
U'kaiah's chest.
Ravyan was standing there, staring them with his large eyes, very much
like his mothers, hugging his stuffed toy-dragon. "Mama?" he asked and
then climbed up to the bed. "Can't sleep. Tell me story," he turned
his appealing eyes towards U'kaiah. He was such a good at telling
stories.
"Me?" the bronzerider asked, confused that the boy might have come
looking for him specifically. "You want _me_ to tell you a story?"
Ravyan nodded and scrambled closer to them, while Aileyan was
arranging the bed furs to cover up any possible embarrasements.
"Yeah, sure buddy," U'kaiah said after the amazement had worn off He
picked up the little boy and settled him down between himself and
Aileyan. "I can tell you a story. I know one about a little brown
flit. Would you like that?"
Ravyan nodded. "Like Timor." Then he looked at his mother. "Where is Tim?"
"He's probably sleeping with Kjarrie," Aileyan replied. "He does that often."
"Well, let me tell you a story about Timon then," U'kaiah said as he
curled his arm around both the boy and his mother. Maybe their
evening would not turn out exactly as he and Aileyan had planned, but
the bronzerider wondered if it wasn't such a bad way to end a day with
his little family.
Aileyan had to admit she enjoyed this little family idyll when she
curled closer to U'kaiah.
In the end, U'kaiah and Aileyan gave up on all hope of having time to
themselves, but neither complained as they whispered long into the
night with Ravyan curled up between them.
~~ END OF FLASHBACK ~~
"So what do you think?" J'nev murmured in her ear as his hands began
to wander. "Think he'll sleep through a second round?"
Aileyan had however, lost any apetite for second round. Memories of
happier times tended to do that. She was trying to figure out a
non-offensive way to make him leave.
But he could not read her mind, and her silence did not ring any alarm
bells. He and Aileyan weren't exactly talkers in bed. And so his lips
moved down from her ear to her neck and shoulder, his fingers sliding
lower along her body. J'nev could already feel his body starting to
respond to his active imagination.
Aileyan pushed his hand away. "I'll rather go to sleep," she said. "I
was nearly sleeping already," she sounded crumpy.
"Oh, come on," he said in a soft, almost amused tone as his hand moved
to rest on her hip instead. She just sounded like she just needed a
little convincing was all. "Drills aren't so early tomorrow, and
Ravyan's asleep. This is a good chance..."
She slapped his hand away with little more force now. "I think you
better leave."
"What?" Her apparently sudden anger took him by surprise. "There's
no call for that. We just had a great time. I'm only asking you for more
of the same. There's no reason for you to get angry about it."
"Just leave," Aileyan asked tiredly and hide her face among the bedfurs.
"What a load of crackdust," J'nev growled as he rolled over and threw
his legs over the side of the bed. She always did this! He comes
when she calls, she chews him up, spits him out and throws him away.
"I swear on Faranth's Egg, Aileyan, one of these days you will push me
too far. And then who will you call to scratch your itch!"
"Whatever," Aileyan said. She was pretty sure she could live without
anybody scratching her itches.
