Jeyme

Jeyme

}:Hmmm, heads up, I believe that Darleth's rider is on his way here.:{
Quinneth reported.

Jeyme wrinkled her nose as she stood over her desk that was in one of
the tiny corner nooks further up in the weyr where other Wingthirds
also had some work spaces. It wasn't glamorous, but it was her own
desk and space to work, and Jeyme absolutely loved it.

**Does he seem mad?** She asked, nearly dreading the answer. She was
learning a lot from K'ran about her Wing duties, and today had been
the first time she'd created the Sweep schedule and posted it.

}:I'm not sure, Darleth didn't say.:{ The green replied, her tone was
bored, she was sure her rider would handle whatever the problem was.

The brownrider knocked on the door with a bit more force than he had
intended and as he waited for the Wingthird to open it, he took a few
deep breaths. S'guin had a temper, but he was learning to control it.
**Five, four, three, two one,** he mentally counted as the mindhealer
had taught him when he was upset.

**Okay, Jeyme, just be polite and handle the situation.
_You_are_the_Wingthird.** The greenrider coached herself before
opening the door and greeting the rider on the other side with a
polite tilt of her head.

"S'guin, please come in. Quinneth said you were on your way." She
walked back around her desk, glad that the furniture was there to put
a little bit of space between her and her guest in the tiny office.

"Yes, I am. Or was." **Five, four, three, two, one...** "I saw the
sweepride assignments have gone out and I have been paired with
greenrider Shealie."

Jeyme blinked, "Yes, is that a problem?" She didn't recall any special
notes about S'guin or Shealie when she was creating the schedule.

Oh, so now she was playing innocent? S'guin took a deep breath before
replying. "Yes, it is a problem for me. I would very much prefer it
if you didn't try to play matchmaker."

The new Wingthird blinked a few more times at S'guin, keeping her face
neutral. **Matchmaker?!** Was there something between him and Shealie?
Or was that the speculation around the Wing? "I'm afraid I don't know
what it is you're referring to, S'guin."

"I know how you ladies talk and conspire and I am not having it!"
S'guin snapped, but then remembered what he had been taught.
**Express your feelings with words, not with anger...** "Excuse me,
Wingthird. What I mean to say is that I feel that my relationship or
lack of relationship with Shealie is my choice, and I feel upset that
that choice is being taken away from me."

"How we 'ladies' conspire?" Jeyme repeated with a lifted of an
eyebrow. "So if this assignment had come from K'ran or F'lin you
wouldn't have had a problem with it?"

"Of course I would have a problem with it," he said not catching on
what about his statement she objected to. "Shealie has been trying to
get me in her bed every since mine won her Flight! And that one time
at G'heb's party. And after that one Gather. But after that I have
told her in no uncertain terms that I am not interested."

Jeyme wanted to pinch the bridge of her nose and sigh but instead
crossed her arms over her chest, "You believe that Shealie would...
make a move on you while you're out on sweep duty? Riding two
different dragons? That she won't be able to put aside her infatuation
over you to do her job and duty to the Wing?"

"Now, see?" he said, raising an accusing finger in emphasis. ""If
things had been reversed, if she had felt awkward around me because
she felt like I had been stalking her every move, you would never have
told _her_ to put aside her feelings, would you. No. Because it's
always up to the men to suck it up when they feel uncomfortable."

"S'guin, I literally asked you if you thought she wasn't capable of
being professional during sweep duty with you because if that's true
then Shealie's the one I need to be having a conversation with," Jeyme
pointed out, she wondered if the man was hearing her at all.

The brownrider crossed his arms over his chest before he started
gesticulating in what some might take as a menacing manner. "And I'm
saying that it doesn't matter if she's capable or not. No one, woman
_or_ man should have to go on sweepriders with their stalker."

Jeyme had seen D'hol make much worst gestures and didn't even blink,
"If you feel that Shealie is stalking you, as you put it, then why
haven't you filed a formal complaint with Wingleader K'ran?"

"She's annoying, not dangerous," S'guin snorted, as if the idea were
preposterous.

The Wingthird's eyebrows snapped down, "Well then, Wingrider, until
you file a formal complaint with the Wingleader you don't have a leg
to stand on. Say hello to Shealie for me."

"I'll go down to his office right now then. And I'll include you're
name in the complaint as well, greenrider. You go tell your buddy
that she will now be on report, and it's _your_ fault." He turned on
his heel and strode out of the office.

"That's Wingthird to you," she called to his retreating form. Did
K'ran have to deal with stuff like this all the time?

**Quinneth, would you warn -**

}:I've already spoken to Rogueth.:{ The green replied with a hint of
amusement in her voice.
