Dessa was trying to eat her breakfast and was getting really annoyed with this young man who was bothering her. He was a fellow candidate, whose name she couldn't remember and didn't care enough to find out. No matter what she said, he just didn't seem to get the message. How hard the word, no, was to understand? She was starting to think she needed to slap him.

A'be and G'dori walked into the dining hall, breakfast on their mind too. A'be still didn't want to bed G'dori, but the two of them had become fast friends. They got their breakfast trays and started look for a place to sit down.

"Damsel in a distress, at three o'clock," Ged said, having more sharper eye for social clues than the bluerider.

A'be looked over and saw what G'dori meant. The girl, young woman, was lovely and looked irritated. A young man, candidate by the knots, was leaning over her, his body language raising all kind of red flags. A'be recognized a sleazy bully when he saw a one. Without consulting G'dori, he changed direction and headed to the table the girl was sitting.

"They told us to practise, so why won't you practise with me?" The boy leered and made thrusting motions with his hips.

"Which part of the, no, not interested, you didn't understand?" Dessa asked with cold tone and eyed the butter knife on the table. It wasn't that sharp but with enough force…

"The lady's not interested, so bugger off," A'be told him, his voice dark and grim, carrying a hint of threat.

"But I might be interested," G'dori said with sultry tone, coming behind the boy. The boy straightened, looked at the two riders. Before he could say something, Ged continued. "I'll practise with you anytime," he licked his lips suggestively and put his hand on the boy's butt, giving a squeeze. The boy turned red-faced and flustered, beating a hasty retreat while muttering something.

A'be heard a strange sound and looked the girl with concern. Then he realized she was trying very hard not to laugh aloud.

"Thank you for your timely rescue," Dessa said after she had gotten herself under control again. She did not give in to hysterical laughter. "It's always a pleasure to see a man become the receiving end of a sexual harassment."

"I'm always pleased to help out, lady," Ged replied merrily. "Would you mind if we sit here?" he asked, indicating the empty seats in her table.

Dessa looked them over, a bluerider and greenrider based on their knots and looked alike enough to be related to each other. "Please, go ahead," she replied. She didn't get any threatening vibes from them.

"Thank you," A'be took the seat opposite of her while G'dori sat next to her.

"I'm G'dori, rider of green Naryath, and the sulky one is A'be, Uljath's rider. He's still a weyrling," he handled the introductions.

"I'm Dessa, a candidate and harper. It's nice to meet you. Are you two relatives?" Dessa replied.

"Maybe, possibly, we don't know for sure," A'be replied. "His father promised to find it out but haven't heard anything of it yet," he pointed accusingly Ged with his bread.

"That's how my father is, a lazy dragger, always leaves things to the last moment. Unless there's woman to be bedded, then he's quick enough. He'll get to it, eventually," G'dori replied with an indifferent shrug.

Dessa looked thoughtful. She was harper after all and knew how to investigate things like that. They had helped her after all. But right now, she was willing to learn to know this duo.
