Description: The Holder follows through on his promise to build Rethisa a garden.
Location: Hidden Meadows
Date: month 1, day 12 of Turn 9
Notes: Rethisa couldn't help the flutter of excitement in the pit of her
stomach as she walked through the beginnings of her garden. Demir had
followed through on his word to help her set up the garden of her
dreams, and even though many of the plants had only just begun to
sprout, she was already feeling at home. Hopefully there would be no
more cold snaps to endanger her babies.
Kneeling beside the section of garden that would be strictly herbs,
Rethisa plucked a few weeds and tendrils of grass that had begun
poking through.
Demir chuckled as he saw his wife digging in the dirt. Who knew what
could make a woman happy? "Enjoying yourself," he grinned.
"Very much," Rethisa said, looking up at Demir with eyes squinted
against the sun. She checked beneath the leaf of a sprout that had a
withered spot. "I'll need to dust these."
"You'll find everything you need in that little storeroom," he pointed
to a door in the hold's wall not too far away.
"I'll have to go fetch an apron and change clothes." She'd only
planned on a little walk through the budding garden, but now, having
seen it and knowing where the supplies were... She was anxious to get
her hands in the soil once more.
He couldn't help chuckling. It was quite odd to think that a Lady born
would like getting her hands dirty but he didn't mind in the least.
He'd never thought the Hold would fall to him and he was a farmer at
heart. "Do you have the necessary clothes?"
"I do, if you don't mind your wife dressing down a little." Rethisa
came over to him, trailing a couple of fingers down the buttons of his
shirt.
"Whatever you like dear," he smiled down at her. "But you're more like
to get undressed if you keep doing that."
"Perhaps later," she said with a lift of her eyebrows. "Right now,
I've got dirt to play with!"
He couldn't help the low chuckle that rumbled in his chest. Then he
winked at her. "Get as dirty as you like. I'm happy to bathe you
later."

When Rethisa returned to the main building some time later, her apron
was dingy with mud, and there was evidence of dirt on her forearms and
fingernails. A pink flush rode her cheeks from the time spent outside
in the wind and sun, and several wisps of her platinum hair had come
loose from her braid but Rethisa didn't care, she felt invigorated.
She could tell from some of the looks she received from those inside
the building that her appearance surprised them. Ducking her head a
little at their inspection, Rethisa slipped quickly into her quarters.
"Look what the wher drug in," Allera was blunt as usual, making Rethisa smile.
"You should have seen the looks I got on the way in." Rethisa said,
turning her back to Allera, who immediately began helping her undress.
"Prudish lot." Allera agreed. "Well, your bath is ready, still hot too."
"Perfect." Rethisa stepped out of her clothing, leaving them in
Allera's care as she stepped into the tub of waiting water, causing
some of it to slosh onto the stone floor.
A chuckle came from the door and Demir walked around the screen to
look down at his wife with loving eyes. "Well, don't you look
delicious," he smiled.
Rethisa waved Allera away, who curtsied to Demir and then slipped from
the room. "If only this bath were big enough for two."
Demir smirked and lifted an eyebrow at the scandalized maid. Then he
pulled off his tunic and bent to grab the sponge. "Lean forward" he
said and lathered her exposed back. "Maybe we should order a new tub,"
he grinned.
"One big enough for two?" She smiled as she leaned forward against her
knees and swept her hair over her shoulder so her back was exposed.
"You are a very smart woman," he chuckled as he stroked soapy streaks
down her back and followed them with his hands.
