Description: J'nev and Aileyan make plans for the evening...
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 8 of Turn 8
J'nev was a young bronzerider with no family, and as such, had yet to earn a weyr with his own private bathing pool. That meant after Fall, he had to sometimes wait in line as everyone filed in to get clean again. It seemed Aileyan had made it down a bit sooner. He caught the freshly washed greenrider's eye as she stepped out of the door. J'nev smiled, liking the way her wet hair framed her face.
Glancing around at the other riders, he knew the reserved Aileyan would not appreciate it if he called attention to their recent habits. Lifting an eyebrow questioningly, he inclined his head, silently asking if she wanted to see him in her room once he had his turn with the sweetsand.
Aileyan saw the gesturing. She replied with a shrug and made the gestures for eating and drinking. After washing off the sweat and Thread ash, she was hungry.
The vague gesture annoyed the bronzerider a bit. He got she was hungry, but what did the shrug mean? Did she want his company tonight or not? If she didn't, there was a cute greenrider who would be going into the bathing pool two people ahead of him, he was pretty sure once she got a view at what he had to offer he'd have a shot! Obviously gesturing wasn't going to work.
**Ankioth, could you ask Kjarliheth to ask if hers wants me to come knock on her door when I'm done?**
}:I'm tired...:{ the bronze complained.
Rolling his eyes, he tapped the man in front of him on the shoulder and asked him to save his spot before walking over to the greenrider himself.
"So after food, do you want me to come over? Or you can come to mine?" he asked in a voice low enough only one or two might overhear, if they even cared.
"I don't know, maybe," Aileyan replied and shrugged again. Yes, she was very confused about him. Did she like him or not?
"Well... Do you have other plans or something?" He suddenly started to wonder if maybe he wasn't Aileyan's only entertainment, which would certainly explain why she was so sharding confusing all the time. **She's probably making moves on some of the those new sharding bronzeriders from River Bluff...** he thought as his jaw clenched slightly.
"No, I don't have plans," Aileyan replied. Since it was Threadfall day, Ravyan was staying with his fostermother.
"Then what? Are you bored with me, or something? Is there someone else?" Was he just not as good as he thought he was? No, J'nev pushed that thought far down.
"I'm just not sure about you. Or me, or us. What the shells is going on between us? It's making me confused," Aileyan replied.
"Well, shards..." He ran a hand over his face, not even sure what to say to that. "This isn't a Hold. Do we have to have a label for it? I mean, you and I just survived Thread without a scratch. Can't tonight just be enjoying the fact that we're both alive to see another day?"
"I can't shake the feeling that we are going to end up hurting each other," Aileyan said and fiddled her bath-damp hair.
There was no doubt of that in J'nev's mind. Though he was determined that if anyone was left hurt, it wouldn't be him. But that was down the road a long ways. He liked what they had right now, and didn't want it to end. Not yet. "Not tonight," he said softly. "We won't hurt each other tonight."
"Fine then, come to see me when you're done," she gestured towards the bathing caverns.
"Hey, J'nev," a voice from behind called. "If you don't want to lose your spot, you better get back in line. You're next."
"Then I better hurry," the bronzerider said with a slight smile, his mood brightening considerably. "See you later."
"Okay," Aileyan nodded. "I'll head to eat first. If I'm not at the dining cavern, I've headed back to my weyr."
