Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 10, day 8 of Turn 3
Illiana was down by the beach, she found some rocks to sit on while Dasha amused herself by running along the wet sandy beach barking pointlessly at the waves. The Candidate watched her canines crazy antics and he made her giggle a bit, but she couldn't get a certain someone off her mind. Nor could she get the expression on his face out of her head right after their kiss.
Dasha then changed her attentions to barking at something else, well somebody else. Giving a sharp high pitched whistle, Dasha stopped barking and came to her masters side. And like usual Illiana put on a grin on her face and turned to face Jerric. "Good afternoon." Well he had come back, so that had to be a good sign right?
"I have been looking for you everywhere, Illiana!" Jerric approached her, a bit out of breath. He had been searching for her since their lessons had ended. It was by chance that he had thought of he beach. "I wanted to apologize for the way I acted yesterday," he began and looked down sheepishly. "You must think I am kind of fool, huh?" he asked quietly.
"Well I knew you were a fool before that." She teased, hoping some humor would help hide the way she was feeling, over the turns she had become an excellent master of disguise when it came to her "girly" feelings.
"Harsh," Jerric said, all though now he was smiling too again. "I really did get sick though. whenever I get really nervous I get sick to my stomach.
I've done that since I was a little kid. Used to drive my mother insane.
Please say you'll forgive me?" he asked and looked into her eyes.
"Only if you stand on your head and squawk like a wherry." Illiana said with a big silly grin on her face.
Shrugging Jerric pretended as if he was about to get on the ground but then stopped with a laugh. She couldn't have been serious. "Oh come on, you're joking right? Besides, I can't stand on my head anyways," Jerric said.
Illiana's face lost the smile, she clentched her jaw and nodded, and in as srious of a tone as she could muster she sad: "Oh yes, I'm quite serious Jerric."
Jerric bt his tongue. Too afraid to object to her and wanting her forgiveness as the only friend he had at Weyr, he pitifully got on the ground. His first few attempts at a headstand failed terribly. He hadn't acquired much muscle from being at the Weyr and couldn't hold up his weight (despite how skinny he was) but continued to try. If disgracing himself like this was what it took, he supposed it was worth it.
"Okay, okay! You can stop! I was just teasing." She jumped up and ran over to Jerric and steadied him before he fell again.
Jerric fell on his back and laid there, his hands resting on his stomach.
"So you'll forgive me?" he asked before getting up. He hardly even noticed he had gotten his clothes all dirty.
"Yes I forgive you, you fool!" She then went to ruffeling Jerric's hair then flopped down on the sand beside him.
Jerric sat up some and leaned over her, "And are we friends again?" he asked grinning. He felt as if he had achieved some sort of victory and his mood had elevated ten times over from when he had arrived at the beach to talk to her. He looked down at her with his brown eyes and a lock of his brown messy hair fell in his eyes.
That had to be the worst combination of words for any woman to hear. But Illiana, as usual, kept her smile on her face nodded her head slowly. "Yes, I guess we are." She then got a bit of a vacant look on her face as she rollled over in the sand to look at the waves (which Dasha was chasing again).
Jerric continued to look at her. She seemed happy but he swore something had changed about her. "You guess?" he asked. He tried to remain playful but in truth he was a bit worried. Had she really not forgiven him?
"Yes Jerric we are still friends, or will I have to make you do something else crazy?" She asked as she rolled back over to face Jerric and cocked an eyebrow.
"That's quite all right," Jerric laughed. "I'll take your word." He then laid back on the sand and looked up at the sky. It was late in the afternon so it was a bit cooler out. He took a big breath in and then relaxed.
Everything had been righted.
"Do you wanna go for a walk or something? I've been sitting her doing nothing for too long, I need to stretch my legs." Illiana sat up and stretched her long arms high over her head and gave out a little yawn.
"Sure," Jerric said, getting up from the sand. He ran a hand through his messy hair. He could tell there was sand in it from trying to complete Illiana's ridiculous task but he supposed there was little he could do about it now. He held out a hand to help Illiana up.
Hesitantly she accepted the hand, gave a little whistle and Dasha was by her side almost instantly. "Left or right?" She asked looking down either side of the beach.
"Left," Jerric said decisively. He wasn't sure why but it seemed like it would be a shorter walk back to the Weyr if they went left. It wuld get dark soon too and being close to the weyr wouldn't be a bad thing.
So the trio set off towards the left hand side of the beach. Illiana felt like she had to say something so she struck up a conversation about birthing herd beasts - probably not something that Jerric would be to interested about. She then fluttered from one subject to another as they finished their walk.
