"Yanley! I mean, Lady Headwoman! Congratulations!" Genna walked into the kitchens with a big smile on her face. Even though she didn't feel it, she knew better than to let everyone know how she was really feeling at the moment. And this was Yanley's moment to shine. "Us Amber Hills ladies are taking over!" she winked at the older woman, obviously carrying something behind her back as she came closer.

"Genna! Thank you. Yes, we are," Yanley replied with a warm smile and little laughter. She was happy and who could blame her for it?

"I'm so glad you accepted, you're perfect for the job," Genna said. before producing a little gift-wrapped box from behind her back. She had taken a quick trip to the Baker's Hall for an assorment of delicacies. "I have a little present for you, but you have to promiss me not to give it all away!" She winked, knowing Yanley half of the box's content would be gone before it reached her quarters and the other half would be eaten by her little family.

"Oh, Genna, you shouldn't," Yanley said when she took the box. "Thank you," she unwrapped it. Her flits were very curious about the content. "No, this is not for you," she told them sternly and closed the box after a peer inside. "The children will love this."

Genna grinned. "See, there you go already! Taste a few yourself as well!"

"Of course," Yanley grinned. "So, how are you been? It's been awhile since we talked." They both had been busy with their lives.

"It has," Genna nodded. "I'm alright, things have been better, but I guess I'm managing. "How are the kids doing?"

"The kids are growing, as kids do. Daley seems to be learning new things every day," Yanley replied.

"I bet they are. What's Daley up to these days? I don't really know how soon kids are doing what, I probably should have remembered from watching my younger siblings grow, but I guess it never really stuck."

"He's walking now, and learning to talk. He's getting up to mischief, always exploring everything. He does enjoy spending time with other children," Yanley told her.

"That must give you some extra piece of mind, now you're going to be busier again, knowing that he'll enjoy himself with other kids," Genna said with a nod. "I know Daley was a reason for you not to want to take on too much responsibility earlier."

"Yes, I wanted to enjoy the time Daley was a small baby," Yanley replied. "Now he's much more independed."

"Well, I'm glad, the Weyr really needs your expertise, I'm sure you're going to earn a lot of respect once people realize just what a great Headwoman you are going to be."

"The job itself is something I'm familiar with," Yanley agreed. "Weyr or Hold, the logistics are the same when you're feeding and clothing a large number of people. We will be working together, did you realize that?" As a Headwoman, she would be working with the all goldriders.

"Yes, I did, it will be nice getting to see you more often, even if it's just in an official capacity," Genna nodded. Lives got busy and she didn't see Yanley as often as she would like.

"It is. We get to plan your next Hatching together," Yanley replied.

"Oh, that's going to be the best Feast the Weyr has ever known!" Genna's face up lit up a little at the thought. As much as she had dreaded it at first, afraid of the huge responsibility, she had enjoyed being with Lissath through it all so immensely, that she actually found herself looking forward to her gold's next flight.

"We'll make it an event other goldriders will envy," Yanley promised. She gave the young woman a quick hug.

Genna warmly returned the hug. "Well, I'd better not keep you from your duties for too long. Good luck today, and we will see each other soon!"

"See you, Genna," Yanley replied.
