Description: Asley meets Cosani near the lake.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 24 of Turn 8
Cosani wiggled her toes in the sand and watched Shalith splashing in
the waves. They'd just come off sweepriding duty and a quick meal and
were enjoying a candlemark or so of relaxation.
Asley had been trying to avoid the lake except when it was getting dark.
There weren't many people there at that time and she could avoid so many
distractions. **Shardit.** Her eyes flicked to the very well-formed
greenrider.
To keep her glance polite, she nodded and smiled before walking toward the
water herself.
Returning the nod, Cosani stretched out and got into a more
comfortable position. **Don't splash her.**
Shalith huffed and moved a bit deeper in the water.
Seeing the green, Asley didn't even begin to guess what the conversation had
just been about. Still, she couldn't help but be reminded of the subtle
clues that
one could see if they were looking that hinted at a rider physique. Cosani
had them.
"You're very fit. Do you run?"
"Only when I have to."
"Oh well I don't like to run either. I'm more of a....well I'm not really
athletic anyway."
No, her focus was more on the precise nature of her work. She had never
really been
motivated to exercise. Thankfully with her frame, she didn't have to much.
"An indoor person?" Cosani guessed.
"I wouldn't say that. I like to sit out here and enjoy the water and walk
around the
Bowl. Beyond that, though, I don't do much. I suppose I like to be lazy
during the
time I'm not working." **Exercising is just more work.**
Cosani lifted an eyebrow. "Most people call that relaxing," she said
with a hint of amusement.
"Ah sure, I'll take that. It sounds better anyway." Asley shrugged and began
to
wade through the water carefully, feeling the lake bottom with her
toes. The water was beautiful here and felt great with the heat.
Shalith eyed her and moved farther away to resume splashing. There
weren't many dragons in the immediate area but Shalith was content to
amuse herself for a while.
Cosani rolled onto her back and shut her eyes.
Asley was content herself to follow the dragon's example. She went deeper
into the water but she didn't splash. Instead, she soaked and waded. And she
turned back to surreptitiously glance at the sunbathers. Mostly nude tanned
bodies weren't always a bad thing to look at.
The green got a little more vigorous in her splashing and a small wave
of spray crashed over Asley.
The printer came up and looked to where it had come from. She was already
wet, though, so she didn't complain. And having lived around dragons, she
also
understood it was a hazard that happened. "Well done!"
Shalith tilted her head, eyes whirling curiously. She splashed again,
deliberately this time.
That one Asley saw coming and knew to jump up and ride. She smiled and
nodded her head to the green before heading back to shore to sunbathe.
