Cinderella Moment

Writers: Chelle
Date Posted: 23rd June 2015

Characters: Rhosyn
Description: She gets ready for Turnover
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 13, day 28 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Solieira, Lenala, Eirock, Xeladrie

Standing there in the mirror, she moved from left to right. The skirt made a soft swishing sound as her body shifted and she couldn't help but feel feminine. Her hazel eyes traveled along the lines of the dress. The color was a pale green which complemented both her hair and her eyes. The silk was quite thin, but iridescent which Rhosyn marveled at. The weavers had outdone themselves. It would be easy to dance in but still draw eyes her way. And she was ready for that. She was ready to
be noticed.

The tongues could wag all they wanted. She was a Weyrwoman and there was nothing they could do to change that. **I will do what I want to, when I want to, and whom I want to do it with.** The slippers were soft and formed to fit her feet. They also made her steps quiet. Dyed to match the pale bluegreen, they had come with the dress.

Someone was going to have to manage her hair but there were several hands to do that. Perhaps Solieira would like the chore. **I wonder if Lenala will go with me or to Jade Harbor.** Turnover was a rare event and one of the times when they were close enough to get back to the Weyr if needed. Most of the Weyrfolk left it to celebrate anyway, either visiting their families or going out to the Holds for the larger celebrations. A few would stay behind like the young weyrlings, the infirm, and the children.

Unlike some goldriders, Rhosyn liked to be seen. She also understood that it helped things with the holders to see their Weyrleaders from time to time, enjoying themselves and letting them know they were appreciated. So the trip to Sunstone for Turnover did have a purpose. It also would give her an opportunity to see a certain
steward. There was also Xeladrie. **I wonder how much she'll be showing now if at all**

Thinking of pregnancy wasn't something Rhosyn liked to do. So she turned her back on the looking glass and began to slowly remove the clothes. Sure it would fit, she would don it again in the morning before going to the Hold. Hanging it carefully, she stepped back and considered whether or not the hair comb that resembled the
faceted eye of a dragon would match. With its happy blues and greens, she was sure it would. "It'll suit."

Satisfied and looking forward to the trip, she threw a sundress over her head and got ready to go down to dinner. Everyone knew her plans and preparations had been made. The Holders would have the good food available. Hopefully, the harpers would manage a good round or three of music. **A good party is just what I need.** The last one hadn't ended up going so well with her sister and brother-in-law. This one, though, should be fine.
