Corowal was standing on a low stool, with a weaver buzzing around him,
making final adjustments to his new gather clothes. The tunic was emerald
green, naturally with gold trimmings. "Do be careful with the gold thread,
I want to look elegant, not outshine my Lady wife," he told the weaver.

"Yes, sir. Do you want pearl buttons?" the weaver asked.

"Faranth, no! What did I just say?"

"So, not too much decorations?"

"Elegant, my man, I want elegance and style, not to look garish." Hearing
the door open he turned to look. "Ah, Sarban, just the person I needed to
see. Excuse us, this shouldn't take long," he waved towards the weaver.

The steward tried not to smile at the weaver, but then he glanced at the
suit. He was quite glad he never had to bother with such things. He was the
one behind the curtains, not in front of them. "You know, it's going to be
hotter than shells there right? You need to go with thin fabrics."

"I know," Corowal replied. He looked down at the weaver. "Will it be ready
in time?"

"Yes, sir, even if I have to work through nights," the weaver assured. He
started to remove the tunic from Corowal, careful with the loose threads
hanging and seams not yet sewn together.

"And no doubt charge us accordingly," Corowal remarked with a laugh.

When the man left, Sarban waited until Corowal got down from the stool he
was standing on. "So how long are you going to be gone?" With a wedding
like this it wasn't unusual for people to stay a few nights. Felyna was
going with him too, Sarban understood.

"I was planning that we could be away for a longer time this time. Felyna
and I never had proper honeymoon. We might as well use the opportunity and
spend some time together, just two of us, no children around," Corowal
answered and walked over to his desk. "If we take a dragon ride to
Turquoise Bay and then board a ship after the wedding. We could also stop
by at Coral Bay Hold. It would be nice to visit my mother and there's that
trade deal with Coral Bay to wrap up," he traced the potential sea route
from the map. He was going to combine business with pleasure.

"Tell Auntie hello from me." Sarban watched as Corowal traced the route and
thought about how long it would take, intimately familiar with that
particular sea route himself. That meant he was responsible for the Hold
and the children. Of course the fostermother would see to them everyday but
the steward would see that they were protected and safe and had what they
needed. "You're going to take at least a drudge with you right to handle
the bags and whatever you might need?" Most Lord Holders traveled with an
entourage, both for safety and to see to their needs. Sarban didn't like
the idea of them traveling alone anyway.

"I would like to keep it small. Zandan is going to insist on bodyguard and
Felyna probably wants her maid with," Corowal pondered. "While I'm gone,
try to keep Giffin from stealing any more of Merry Brook's lands. His hold
is large enough."

"We sent out a group of smiths to actually plot the land, with markers.
Once it's done, the boundaries will be drawn and he won't be able to keep
moving in. Honestly, though, I wouldn't be averse to just giving it to one
of his sons if they were responsible. Better to have someone holding than
not, and they could keep it I think." He'd been playing around with such
ideas and was waiting to see if Corowal would come around to it.

"I keep that in my mind. Nothing can be done about it now. Meantime, we
need to arrange the trip for me and Felyna. Reserve cabins and such,"
Corowal replied.

"I know the riverboat folk well so that would be no problem. As far as the
boat passage along the coast..." He began to wrack his brain to remember
some of his old crafting buddies. Who had been promoted? "There's a new
hall at Sunstone. Maybe we could send word to them? Otherwise I can go
directly through one of the Captains themselves. Up to you." Sarban was
mentally cataloging which ships would have the luxuries available that
Corowal was used to and indeed-it was a short list.

"Or we could contact my step-father. He may be retired from the sea but he
still _owns_ a few ships," Corowal grinned. Those ships were mostly
captained by Corowal's half-brothers. "Keep it in the family, so to speak."

Of course Corowal was fond of that which Sarban himself was proof of. "Will
do." Sarban stood back, thinking. "While you're at this wedding, it might
be a good time to cement some alliances especially with our bordering
Holds." Of course the Steward was thinking of trade and mutual protection.

"Naturally, it's a perfect opportunity for it," Corowal replied. The two of
them often thought along the same lines which made them such an efficient
work team.

"I made a list of the ones we should probably pay special attention to for
various reasons. I'll stick it in your traveling papers." Sarban thought
that was really all that needed saying. "I'll go get started making the
arrangements. See you at dinner?"

"Yes. I'll tell the children...they'll be disappointed," Corowal replied.

"Perhaps some going away gifts?" Sarban suggested before heading through
the door.
