Description: J'kri seeks out R'axe after D'ret's death.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 14 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: D'ret, Paetri
It had been a long day in the Weyr for everyone, it was always that
way whenever a rider and dragon perished, especially a young one. Not
even the jovial R'axe had felt much like conversation that evening,
and so he had forgone his usual visit to the Dining Cavern, and had
instead taken his meal in his weyr alone with a glass of wine.
He was just cleaning up and putting everything back on the tray when
he heard a knock on his door. R'axe kept many lovers and friends, and
so he had no idea who to expect on the other side of the portal.
Pulling the door open his heart clenched, "J'kri."
The young rider looked haggard, dark circles under his eyes, his face
pale and drawn. "I... I need..." To feel something, anything other
than this pain. J'kri knew he could've gone back to Paetri, but her
eyes held the same sadness that was carved into his heart.
R'axe reached out, grabbed the front of J'kri's shirt and pulled the
younger rider into his weyr. Flicking the door closed he turned and
enveloped J'kri in his arms, offering the only support he had. There
could be no words adequate enough to soothe what the young rider must
have been feeling.
J'kri hadn't expected the hug, but he welcomed it. His throat
tightened and tears came again for the fourth or fifth time that day.
He'd lost count.
The older bluerider stroked his hand in comforting circles along
J'kri's back, letting him cry. R'axe had never had to watch someone he
was in a relationship with die, because he rarely let anyone get that
close to him. "Hey," he murmured softly, "you want a glass of wine?"
J'kri simply nodded against the man's shoulder.
R'axe steered J'kri over to his couch and then poured a glass of wine
for the younger man. Bringing the wine over, he passed the glass into
J'kri's hands and then sat down beside of him, "You want to crash here
tonight?" He offered.
"I want hot sex." His lips twitched and he took a large swallow of
wine. The aching emptiness inside him had numbed every other feeling.
That was flattering, at least, R'axe decided as he studied J'kri's
profile, half shadowed by the light from the fireplace, "Are you
sure?" If that was how J'kri wanted to escape from the grief, R'axe
would oblige, but the escape would only be temporary.
J'kri stared down at his glass before meeting R'axe's gaze. "I want to
feel something _good_ today."
"I can do that." R'axe promised as he moved close to J'kri on the
couch, grabbed the front of the younger man's tunic and pulled him in
for a kiss.
Warmth spread from his lips down through his body as J'kri kissed him
back. At first he was a little tentative, worried the grief might be
too much to overcome. But the heat grew and J'kri deepened the kiss,
sliding onto R'axe's lap. It wouldn't make everything better, he just
wanted to get away from the pain for a little while.
R'axe nibbled lightly on the bottom of J'kri's lip as his left hand
made quick work of the buttons on the younger man's shirt. When his
fingers came into contact with smooth skin his pulse quickened. R'axe
didn't have soothing words but he knew how to bring physical pleasure
and tonight he was going to put Turns of experience to use for J'kri.
J'kri leaned into the touch, moving a hand up R'axe's neck into his
hair. After spending all day full of cold emptiness, the rush of
desire was more than welcome. His free hand slid under the waistband
of the older rider's trousers.
A fresh wave of pleasure washed over R'axe as he moaned against J'kri's
lips. It was never hard to make love to J'kri, who was always a very
willing and perceptive bed partner. Wrapping his arms around J'kri,
R'axe picked the Weyrling up and carried him to the bed. Tugging off
J'kri's boots and then his own, R'axe joined the other man on the bed.
"What strikes your fancy tonight, darlin'? Top or bottom?" He
stretched his longer body out over J'kri, nibbling on the younger
man's neck as he waited for an answer.
A giddy thrill filled J'kri's stomach. "Anything I want?" He arched
against R'axe, images flashing through his mind.
R'axe grinned, "Anything you want."
One idea stood out. "I want you like we were on the couch..." J'kri's
cheeks heated. Something about R'axe made him feel both shy and bold
at the same time. "In your lap." He'd done it with D'ret but with
their roles reversed. This way it was new to J'kri and wouldn't make
him think too much about his lost friend.
There probably wasn't a way that R'axe _hadn't_ done it before, so
without hesitation he pulled J'kri up from the bed, and went back to
the couch, "As you wish." He growled playfully in the younger
bluerider's ear.
Though the shadows never quite left his eyes, J'kri proved himself to
be enthusiastic in his lovemaking. When he was spent, he lay against
the older rider for a long moment. As his breathing slowed, he tilted
his head to whisper against R'axe's ear, "Thank you. I needed that."
R'axe trailed his fingers down J'kri's bare back, "Mmmm, any time,
J'kri." He didn't often give other people the chance to be reoccurring
lovers in his life, but he knew he would never be able to turn the
young bluerider away.
