(if anyone is reading their story lol)
It was the day, at long last. J'darin was nervous as a feline, pacing back
and forth. He and Hasaarth were going to help Devyn carry hethings here
when she called. He had felt like he was hovering while she was packing
and had fled, returning to his own weyr to straighten up. It was
already neat, but he was brushing imaginary dust away and putting his
clothes out of the way so she would have room for
hers.
He looked around and wasn't sure... did it look like a place a woman would
like?
He had a living area, a bathing chamber, and a bed chamber. His weyr
wasn't far from the ground, so he could have access easily to the
weyrlings.
He had a table with chairs in the living area - it was large - and a
basket of wood with tools on one side of the couch, for his carving.
He often carved when he needed to do something to keep busy.
His bed was neatly made and plenty large enough for 2, and he and
Devyn had stayed in it many times. There were more blankets piled
on it now, as he thought she might want more blankets than he ever
needed.
He had a wardrobe off to the side of one wall.
Everything was neat, but not decorative. There was nothing on the
walls really, and nothing anywhere that made it look "decorated".
Maybe she would?
He started pacing again, waiting for the call.
Devyn had been quite relieved when J'darin had said that he was going
to take care of a few things in his weyr. She loved the man, and she
enjoyed spending time with him, but his hovering had been stressing
her out. It was clear that the bronzerider was nervous but he had not
yet taken back his offer for her to live with him. Now that she was
all packed up she would call him back.
Her once short hair had finally grown to the point that it was
brushing the tops of her shoulders. It was the longest it had ever
been. Pulling the strands back she twisted them and clipped them out
of the way as she rolled her tunic sleeves back. Devyn exhaled as she
opened up the top couple of buttons on her tunic, a light sheen of
sweat covering her body.
**Okay, tell Hasaarth we're ready.**
He breathed a sigh of relief and grabbed extra straps, along with his
riding jacket. **here we go, Hasaarth.**
His large bronze was happy to lend a hand ...well talon... since he
would be getting a weyrmate too, even if he didn't catch her every
time she rose. He would try even harder, now.
They landed on Devyn's ledge and J'darin called out to her, then
headed inside. He paused to look her over and couldn't stop the grin
slipping across his face. She certainly was beautiful. He slipped
his arms around her from behind and said, "Hi beautiful. You look like
a lady who could use a big, strong man and his big strong dumb dragon
to help. Just point us in the right direction." Hasaarth snorted
very loudly out on the ledge but said he would still help, in spite of
his rider.
Devyn leaned back against J'darin, enjoying the feel of his firm body
behind hers, "Well, I put all of the heavy stuff over there." She
pointed to the opening to Ellyth's weyrcouch, "Because I knew you big
strong boys would want to handle those." Drawing away from the
bronzerider she gave him a wink as she slipped a satchel onto her
shoulder and then grabbed up a trunk to take out to her waiting green.
He grinned at her backside and went to start loading up Hasaarth with
the "heavy stuff".
A few trips later, it looked like all of her stuff was here.
The front of his weyr was full of trunks and boxes and he leaned back
against the wall and smiled at her. "Well, did we get it all?" He
moved through the piles to the wardrobe against the wall and pulled it
open, showing half of it empty for her. "I'll help you unpack, just
tell me where you want it." He stepped toward her and leaned down to
kiss her gently. "Welcome to my weyr, Devyn." He murmured quietly.
"Its not much... " He added, glancing around at the bare walls, "But
there is plenty of room for you .. and plenty of room for Ellyth."
Devyn smiled into the kiss, "I don't need a lot of room, all I need is
you." She answered truthfully. Being a greenrider she had spent a lot
of time living in a small weyr by herself so the Weyrlingmaster's
quarters seemed a lot more spacious to her. She knew that her
belongings could fit into the space that J'darin had allotted for her,
and Ellyth was more than pleased to have a bronze to curl up with in
the weyrcouch.
J'darin's heart sped up at her words, and his blood heated a little.
Oh .. this woman.... He loved her so much.
He pulled her tight against him and said, "Hmm... maybe I should
welcome you properly? We can always unpack later..." He kissed the
side of her neck, not caring that both of them were dirty and sweaty.
"....Or if you'd rather we could eat, bathe, lay around, or whatever
you like... " His grin looked like a little boys, though his eyes and
the way he looked at her was all man. "I don't care what we do, as
long we do it together. This is your home... with me... I want you to
know how happy I am." He fumbled a little and thought maybe he should
just shut up.
Hasaarth was already curling up to Ellyth, and he was so confused why
their riders didn't just do the same.
The greenrider fairly purred in J'darin's arms, liking the suggestion
that she saw behind the bronzerider's handsome eyes, "Oh, I think a
proper welcome is in order, sir. After all, we want to start things
off on the right foot, yes?" She wound her arms around the man's neck
as she pressed her body up against his.
He picked her up bodily and carried her into his....their.....bed and
tossed her in, following after her. "Maybe not so proper..." He nipped her
playfully and then he did ....finally....shut up.
