Description: The "love" gets a little more twisted
Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 4, day 10 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Benani, Zathris, Karhal (Not by name), Loella (not by name)
She was so utterly lovely, but that stupid mutt of hers was an
annoyance. It seemed to bark and take her attention constantly. He
frowned at the thought. It already was taking her attention away from
more important matters. Sweet Faranth, didn't her all knowing husband
know that the poor woman had enough to do? He saddled her with two
gasping, mewling children, a Hold to manage and now a canine?
And now that new girl, that Captain's whore. She was following his
Lady around with another damnable mutt. They laughed together; they
taught the mutts stupid little tricks. Sure, it looked like fun, but
it took precious time away from her day. She went to bed so tired, his
poor lovely creature. He did try to help as best he could. He did away
with some of the hides that weren't so important. He made sure that
her rooms were always tidy. He was making things so much easier on
her. That was love, not the stupid fawning and grasping for time that
Zathris and his minions perpetrated.
He paced in his little room. He had to get her away from all of these
grasping sods that were after her time and scarcely let her breath.
There were problems with that, however. First, where could he take
her? Benani would need somewhere quiet and safe. He could properly woo
her then and show her just how much she needed him and how much he
loved her. He was her complete servant! She would see that. He just
had to have the time to show her.
He paced a little faster. There was that old abandoned cothold of
course. It was from before Zathris' time and it was overgrown. Perhaps
there. Perhaps. Or perhaps a vacation along the coast? She would like
that, certainly. Anywhere but here. Anywhere they could finally be
alone together.
His mind wandered away from his problems as he dwelled on the alone
time. She had looked at him today. There was even, he imagined, a hint
of affection in that gaze. Maybe more. The more he thought about it,
the more certain he became. Where there just a hint of desire in those
eyes? A need for someone other than that pompous arrogance that she
had married? Someone simpler…who adored her completely? Yes. She
wanted him, and she simply could not show it. That was it. She was far
to proper to reveal herself like that. But where they were alone, she
would. He knew it!
He shook those thoughts off. He had to deal with how to get her away.
Second problem…that sharding Guard Captain and his drooling canine. He
had seen what that canine could do. There was a dark frown. But
without the Captain, the canine couldn't do anything. He could work
without the canine, so the Captain had to be taken care of. His eyes
narrowed. He could do that.
And then…he shifted on his feet at the thought. He didn't want to
stress Benani. She cared so for her people, even when they didn't
deserve it. It would be best to help her sleep through it until he had
her safely away. That way, she wouldn't worry about the Captain, or
her idiot husband. Then she could be free.
Then she could be free with someone who really loved her.
She could be with him.
