It was a nice dream... a beautiful dream. It was full of dragons, and babies, and a goldrider standing by a fence with a smile that said 'get over here and kiss me, boyo'! What a great dream... until the _screaming_ started!
It was the pounding headache that woke Rigella from a dreamless sleep. For a moment she just laid there, her eyes closed and took a stock of the situation. Her head hurt, her mouth tasted like vomit and stomach churned. Oh, yes the party. Last thing she could remember was vomiting
to the snow. She opened her eyes and screamed. What was she doing in same bed with HIM!
Birigundi sat straight up in the bed. "What! What! What is it?"
"What are you doing in my bed!?" Rigella asked with shrill voice. She pulled the bedcovers to cover her, only to realize she was still dressed.
"Take it easy! I walked you home after the party last night." He rolled off the bed and stood with his hands out to pacify her. "Trust me, I didn't think I'd be here this morning either."
Rigella calmed down. Since she was still wearing clothes, it meant nothing like _that_ had happened. As a healer's apprentice, she had dressed and undressed enough patients to know that if the dressed person was limp and out-cold it was almost impossible to get the normal clothes on.
"But that doesn't still explain why were you in my bed _now_," she pointed out.
"Well it was the only way you would _stay_ in the sharding bed!" His face alone should have told her that there were other beds he would rather of woken up in that morning. "I tried to put you into bed, but you were so _drunk_ you kept rolling out and landing on the floor."
"Oh," Rigella didn't know what else to say. "Shards. I feel like shit. I wish red star would fall on me."
"Well, you had a bit much to drink last night." Birigundi scratched his head in a rather awkward moment.
"Tell me about it," Rigella said with painfilled voice. She pressed her temples with the palm of her hands. "I never had a hangover this bad. Now to think of it, I never had hang over before. I dying," she groaned.
Birigundi could remember a few hangover that felt that way. "It doesn't last forever. Where do you keep your glasses? I should get you some water."
"Under the night table, so no one won't knock it down. Shards, I never drink again!" Rigella replied and woved.
"All right, just lie back down and I'll get it for you." He fished around under the night stand and pulled out a glass.
Rigella let her head plop back to the pillow. She closed her eyes, even the light seemed to hurt. She wished she could go back to yesterday and prevent making fool of herself. She wasn't sure which was worse: the physical hangover or the moral hangover.
"Here," he said as he reached the glass out to her. "Sit up carefully."
Rigella sat up and took the glass. "Thank you," she said and she didn't mean just the water.
Birigundi nodded. "Well, is there anything else you need? Or do you want to go back to sleep?" He chuckled lightly. "I'm pretty sure I can trust you to stay in your bed on your own now."
"I'll try to get some rest first. Later I'll try brave some klah and slice of bread." At the moment the thought of food made her stomach turn.
Shards, but this was awkward. He and Rigella had never really been all that _friendly_, even in a frienship sense, and he wasn't sure where they stood even now. "All right then. I'll... just go... I guess."
"Right, err. Thank you, for looking after me and being a perfect gentleman," Rigella said with a quiet voice.
"Sure. Any time." Though he hoped it would never happen again. "Well, have a good sleep."
Rigella felt like laughing sarcastically. How could she sleep with a headache like this. Instead she just let herself fell back against the pillow. "Healer, heal yourself," She muttered.
