Sitting there as she fingered her dress where it was tucked up in its chest,
Daizimi couldn't help but remember the day she had left her parents. It had
changed everything.

She was wearing a white dress that she had managed to rescue with her
mother's help. Daizimi still looked elegant, though, as she approached
her groom in the small ceremony. Vorbojes was waiting for her. Her
father was angry, but she didn't care. She loved this man-she would
have no other. None of the rest mattered. Her smile was radiant as the
brunette came to stand with him.

As he saw his bride striding towards him, Vorbojes could almost
feel himself lifting off the ground in joy. He still couldn't believe
that Daizimi, his lovely, beautiful Daizimi had chosen him. That she
wanted to be with him. Live a life with him! As she came to stand next
to him, he lovingly took her hand in his and the look in his eyes said
it all.

As the harper continued on with the ceremony, she provided the
appropriate responses. She couldn't help but keep sending looks,
trying to catch Vorbojes' eye. After this, they would be married
and there would be nothing no one could say-even her father. They
would have to consummate it, of course, but then they could have
children. She was already thinking of how life would be at the Hold with
him instead of some stodgy crafter or whoever her father had had in
mind.

Daizimi didn't have to try very hard to catch Vorbojes' eye, because
his were fixed on his wife-to-be and he grinned sheepishly at her as
the ceremony continued. This was without doubt the happiest day in
his life.

When the harper announced they were married, she turned toward her
husband, waiting for the kiss that she wanted to come. There were
flutters in her stomach and all she could think about was what was
to come later. She would finally see what it was all about like he
had promised. "I love you."

"I love you too, my wife," Vorbojes whispered softly as he leaned in
to kiss his bride. This was their moment, now they had truly started
their life together!

She didn't want to let him go. He was so handsome there in his finery.
Still, it was time to get on to the small feast she had invited some
of her friends to. Her family had not been asked to come. They would
leave afterward to travel together to their new home-away from her
father. "I can't wait for tonight," she whispered as they headed for
the feast, hands clasped tightly.

"Neither can I," Vorbojes whispered back with desire clear in his
voice. He wouldn't take this feast away from her though. What little
he had to offer for her big day should be enjoyed at least.

The food wasn't a big spread, but it was enough and she had a good
time. Accepting the well wishes of her friends, Daizimi was in her
element. When the time was getting late, she found her husband and
grabbed his hand. "We need to go," she tugged.

"We do," Vorbojes agreed, squeezing her hand gently. "Let's go say our
goodbyes." And then they would get back to his cot and finally have
the wedding night they had been longing for for so long.

They made the rounds and her cheeks were giddy with the pleasure that
she would be a maid no more. Daizimi was going to be a wife and to a
man she wanted-not one picked for her. She would show her father that
she knew what was best for her, what she needed.

"Well then," Vorbojes smiled in anticipation, "Let's go home,
shall we?" He took her by the hand and made his way for his small
cot.

Putting the dress back inside its resting place, a small tear fell from her face
and she went back to organizing the rest of the things.
