She's gone

Writers: Roxanne
Date Posted: 26th December 2005

Characters: D'wrayt
Description: D'wrayt prepares to go to drills and checks with Calyth on Jaela's status
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 6 of Turn 3
Notes: 1 of 2

It had been three days since he had found Jaela on the floor of her weyr. The entire Weyr was waiting for her to wake up. There was no other queenrider to step up and take over her duties as they hadn't gotten another queen transferred in sinceTraelyn had left to be Weyrwoman of Dolphin Cove. The only other queen the Weyr had was a junior weyrling whose rider was still learning how to be a dragonrider. There was supposed to be a new goldrider transfering in soon, but it might not be soon enough from what the healers had told him.

If she didn't pull through, it would be a nightmare. The Weyr had been through several Weyrleaders and Weyrwomen until he and Jaela took on the leadership roles. They had stabilized the Weyr and had developed quite a relationship. He shook his head and tried to concentrate on the paperwork he was working on. It was almost time for drills and he had to keep it together for his riders. He had to think positive, their weyrwoman would come back to them.

He knew that Treadoryth was with Calyth and would be reluctant to leave her just as he was reluctant to leave Jaela's side. They had to keep to the schedule of things since Thread wouldn't stop falling just because the Weyr's goldrider was sick. **It's time for drills, Ory. Calyth can come help us if she wishes to.** he said putting his paperwork aside.

}:She will stay where she is. I shall be there shortly.:{ the bronze replied after a short conversation with his mate.

**Ask her how Jaela is, please.** D'wrayt asked as he had every so often since he left her lying unresponsive in the infirmary bed.

}:The same. She won't answer Calyth's calls.:{ was the bronze's reply. He nuzzled his mate affectionately and left to meet the wing in the Weyrbowl for drills. They would be flying against Kalamath's wing today in a ropes drill. It would do them good to have something to think about other than their weyrwoman's health.
