The table was set and the food had arrived precisely on time, but sat on the table untouched which was a struggle for the food loving Weyrleader. He had invited his Weyrwoman to a private dinner in his weyr yesterday afternoon and she had accepted without hesistation. It wasn't like her to be late without Calyth letting him know she was running behind for some reason. Perhaps the gold was amusing herself with a nap or a swim and thus was unaware of her rider's activities.
}:Perhaps they had to make a visit to another Weyr and returned later than they planned. Just ask Calyth what is holding her up.:{ Treadoryth suggested as he tried to be reassuring.
**I don't want to bother Calyth.** the Weyrleader replied glancing at the clock worriedly. It had been over a candlemark since the appointed time they were going to have dinner. He knew that she was usually very prompt when they had an agreement to meet somewhere in advance.
}:I shall find out for you then.:{ the bronze said not giving his rider time to protest before bespeaking his mate.
**You really don't have to do that. I'm sure she will be here shortly.** D'wrayt replied despite the fact that his dragon was no longer listening.
}:You need to go to her, now.:{ Treadoryth replied his tone very concerned and serious. Calyth said that her rider was hurting, but refused to go to the infirmary. She insisted that it was simply a slightly heavier monthly cycle and nothing more to worry about.
It was Calyth's mental cry for help that got him moving. }: D'wrayt, come
_now_....Jaela is not answering me!:{ The gold's roar could be heard
from their Weyr and her attempts to get to her rider all but shook this level of the Weyr.
**I'm coming.** he assured both dragons as he rushed through the Council Room and into the Weyrwoman's weyr. He was unprepared for the sight of the goldrider collapsed on the floor unconscious with a mug shattered nearby. He sidestepped the pottery shards and gathered her in his arms.
Treadoryth was coaxing Calyth away from the doorway between her couch and Jaela's livingspace. She had tried her hardest to get to her rider and was still upset at not being able to reach her physically or mentally. The bronze curled himself around his mate comfortingly.
**She'll be allright, Calyth. I'm going to take her to the infirmary.** he told the dragons as he headed out the door. He was glad that the infirmary was close to their weyrs as it would mean she'd be treated even sooner.
"I need a healer _now_!" he bellowed as he entered the infirmary. He didn't care who it was as long as they had enough knowledge to treat her quickly.
One of the apprentices led him to an examination room where he laid the still, pale weyrwoman on the bed. He stepped out of the way and let the healers take over. One of the healers noticed him standing there and waved him out of the room.
