Description: Sh'lua does some thinking and comes to a decision.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 6, day 7 of Turn 5

Sh'lua stared the landscape from Cebene's weyrledge. His back was resting against Galerith's marine-blue hide. He had bunked with Cebene since his arrival to Dragonsfall weyr, although most of his time he had spent in infirmary. Cebene and he had sought comfort from each other's arms at nights, but still neither of them was really interested in rekindling their old flame. They were better off as friends. During the past sevenday he had seen more of Cebene, his daughter Shaene and C'lua than during the past thirteen Turns! That filled the bluerider with guilt. Most of his family now lived in Dolphin Cove. But C'lua and Sheane were his oldest childrens and he had not been part of their live as much as he would have liked to be. He felt torn. He had three children in Dolphin Cove Weyr, all with different mothers. Sh'low was weyrling. Not to mention father, siblings, grand-mother and uncle A'dori

Shards, he really should go back home. He had been away longer than he originally though he would be. He winced when he thought how his wingleader would react to that! C'lua was now out of danger. The healers were optimistic that he would recover now. He still was going to be blind for rest of his life. That young man had tough time ahead of himself, while he adjusted to life as invalid. C'lua was still asleep most of the time and didn't yet know the real extent of his injuries. Sh'lua wanted to be there, be part of his life, support him on his difficult journey ahead. But he also wanted to be part Sh'low's, Lualle's and Shamany's life. There was the saying about dragonrider being able to be where he wanted when he wanted in a blink of a eye. Experience had taught him that it wasn't a true. You couldn't divide your time between two Weyrs, between two families. One would inevitably suffer. So, which one it would be? Dragonsfall Weyr or Dolphin Cove Weyr? Sh'lua sighed. It was not an easy decision. On the other hand, he was native to Dragonsfall Weyr; he had been born here, grown up here and Impressed here. He had gone to Dolphin Cove after the earthquake had destroyed Thayan Peaks Weyrhold. He had created a life there; he liked the climate, had friends and lovers... not to mention the Weyr needed him. He was Search rider, and if any Weyr needed candidates, it was Dolphin Cove Weyr.

Which one it would be? The Weyr that needed him or the son who needed him?

**What would you do, Galerith? **, Sh'lua asked, **here or there?**

}. It's all the same for me, as long as the greens are rising : { Galerith replied.

**Very helpful that was, you old flirt!** Sh'lua snorted and slapped fondly the hide behind his back. Sh'lua sighed and watched the landscape. It really was beautiful, if cold. He suddenly remembered his childhood winters and the snow fights he had with other weyrbrats. Those had been fun! How many of his childhood friends would still be around? He's been here for sevenday and he had not seen anybody outside the infirmary and his family. It could be kind of fun to find out if anybody still remembered Shanlua - the weyrbrat. It created an excited little tingle to the pit of his belly. **Let's face it, we two have already been thru pretty much all the greenriders in Dolphin Cove. Maybe it's time for new Weyr and new greenriders?** It was exaggeration of course.

}: I like Greens :{ Galerith stated matter-of-factly.

Sh'lua turned the facts around his head some more, looked them from different angles, but they didn't change. He_wanted to_ be there when his son faced the reality of permanent injury. The feeling in his belly got stronger and Sh'lua always had tendency to go by the feel. Perhaps it was time for change. He realized he had made the decision. The hardest part was to convince everyone else that it was the _right_ decision. He got up to his feet. "Shall we disturb the Weyrleader's rest day and find out if we are even welcome in to this weyr?" he asked out aloud rhetorically.
