Characters: Aileyan, U'kaiah
Description: Aileyan's green rises, and just who chooses the winner is rather hard to say ...
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 6, day 10 of Turn 5

Aileyan knew right from the moment she wake up that today was the day that Kjarliheth would rise again. The green shone like a gem and drew all male attention wherever she went. Yet it took almost to the evening before she trumpeted out her challenge. She didn't have regular mate or favourite. Almost every time different male flew her.

** So, who would it be this time? ** Aileyan wondered when she watched the men gather around them.

Kjarliheth tended to favour browns and there was quite a few of them on the spot already, attracted to the graceful, petite green dragon. Aileyan actually recognized several of them.

But there were bronzes as well. One in particular was familiar. Her Wingleader, U'kaiah. He had taken his place in the circle surrounding her. Unlike most of his competitors, he had gotten to know this particular greenrider a little. It was hard not to remember that night as his eyes raked over her body, hoping that he would be the one who would carry her off to the Flight rooms this day.

Kjarliheth shot out like the opposite of a shooting star. She was quite pleased to notice she had attracted bronzes too. And the Wingleader-bronze too. That was quite an honour, not to mention he was a handsome fellow.

Blue, brown and bronze launched themselves after their emerald prize. Kalamath was not the fastest of the pack, but he was experienced and crafty. Kjarliheth was fast and agile, but he knew he could wear her down. He watched her hungrily, just as his rider kept a steady stare on the green's rider.

}:We will have her!:{ Kalamath assured him.

Kjarliheth darted across the sky, dropping out her suitors. :} Too slow, too old, too boring. :{

}: He really is handsome :{ Kjarliheth/Aileyan thought. At this point their minds were so intertwined they couldn't tell where rider ended and dragon started. On the sky, the green fixed her gaze to the bronze and made inviting moves, on the ground, Aileyan's eyes were drawn to U'kaiah. Which one made the choice, neither could tell it afterwards.

As the bronze swooped down to claim his new mate, his lifemate reached out his arms and pulled Aileyan close. As Kalamath's neck intertwined with Kjarliheth's, U'kaiah found her lips with his own. As the pair in the sky stretched out their wings to slow their descent and prolong the moment, their riders pulled each other down onto a Flight Room bed and gave themselves over completely to instinct.

Aileyan came around with the now familiar feeling of displacement. As usual, she had let herself go completely, letting the mating lust engulf her personality and any reservations she had. It always too a while to figure out who she was, Aileyan or Kjarliheth. Her memories were a haze but one thing was clear, she remember it was Kalamath, remembered thinking how handsome he was. Or had it been Kjarliheth's thought? Never mind, Aileyan decided, the result was the same.

U'kaiah lifted his head. "Shards," he muttered, using his foot to lazily try to push the trousers that still clung to his other leg off and onto the floor. "Look at the state I'm in. Didn't even get my socks off. What did you do to me, woman?" The socks were the next to go before he turned sighed contentedly and turned on his side to throw an arm lazily over her middle. "I wish I could remember. It sure feels like it was a lot of fun."

"I'm not sure," Aileyan replied. She studied him. "Looks like I might have bitten you, I'm sorry," she apologized.

"Really? Where?" he asked, more amused than alarmed.

"Here," Aileyan said and brushed his shoulder with her finger tips.

"Hmm, yes, I guess you did." U'kaiah looked at her with a slight pout, though his gaze held a different meaning."The least you could do would be to kiss it and make it feel better, don't you think?"

"Do I blow too?" Aileyan asked slyly.

He liked Aileyan like this - relaxed and open. "It's worth a try, don't you think?"

"Yeah," She wasn't a mood for long answers.

"You know," U'kaiah murmured, his fingers moving up to lightly trace the line of her collar bone, "I'm pretty sure I might have nibbled on you a little bit myself." He leaned down to softly kiss the hollow of her throat.

Aileyan's response was non-verbal. She buried her fingers into his hair.
