**How could she do this to me?** he thought to himself.

}:how could who to what to you?:{ Solanth asked curiously.

**What?, oh, it's Trealeina, she was just with another man, she completely forgot about me. She just left ..... without saying a word ...... just left**

}:I don't think she has forgotten you. Tamineth says she talks about you a lot :{ Solanth told him calmly.

**then what was she doing with the other rider?** R'len said with just a hint of anger in his voice.

}:I don't know:{ Solanth told him calmly. He didn't like to have his rider upset but there was nothing he could do.

It was now the sixth candle mark and Trealeina wondered what she should wear. She had never really liked wearing dresses, but wearing trousers did not seem the appropriate thing. She dug out a light blue top, flattering
without exposing too much, and against her protesting conscience, a dark blue skirt that hung just above her knees.

She had already bathed and washed her hair. She had dried it and was letting it hang down but was playing with the idea of pulling it up, because it was already in the way. She thought maybe a compromise would be in order. She pulled back her bangs and braided it letting the braid fall down her back.

Jadella and Tierk sat on their perch watching her as she readied herself, Tierk cocking his head first right then left. Jadella left her perch landing on Trealeina's shoulder and began to preen her hair. "Not now my little lovely." she told her little green as she stroked her head. Jadella leaned her head into each stroke and closed her eyes absorbing the affection Trealeina was sending her.

Teirk, seeing that he was missing out leaped from his perch and landed on her other shoulder, then rubbed his little blue head on Trealeina's cheek. Trealeina laughed then gave Teirk the same affections she had given Jadella.

"Alright you two" Trealeina said as she picked each one from a shoulder. "I have to finish getting ready, I will bring you both something special from the kitchen" she told them with a smile and a final stroke on the head for each one. "why don't you two go keep Tamineth company for a little while."

**Tamineth, dearest one, would you please keep the two scoundrels with you for a while?** With happy chirps the two took to the air and swooped through the doorway that led to Tamineth's weyr.

}:Are you going to see Nimaths rider?:{

**Yes I am.**

}:Nimath is a very nice brown. We should all go for a swim some time:{

**Yes, that would be nice, Perhaps some time when he comes to visit his cousin again, he will join us for a swim on the beach.**

}: The beach would be nice.:{

** Yes it would be** She said as she brushed her hair one final time and straightened her clothing, smoothing her top and skirt once more before going out the door. As she approached the dining cavern, she saw Mi'lane leaned against the wall just outside the entrance to the dinning cavern.

He had one foot crossed over the other and arms folded across his chest. There was a small basket at his feet, and the top of a bottle sticking out of one corner of the basket. He was handsome, and like all dragonriders he
was strong and fit.

As Trealeina came closer a smile spread across his face as he stood straight to greet her, arms still folded across his chest. **She looks even more beautiful than I remember.** he thought to himself as he watched her walk toward him. Her dark blue skirt exposing just the right amount of leg without appearing too flirty. He was never really turned on by women who thought they had to expose themselves to be attractive. He let his eyes
travel up to her top which showed off her figure nicely with exposing a lot of chest.

He let his gaze go up to her smiling face. She had a pleasant smile, one that showed she was happy to see him without seeming overly anxious. "Good evening Trealeina." he said as he kept himself in check. He found her to be attractive, and did not want to appear overly anxious either, nor did he want to do anything that would make her uncomfortable.

"Good evening Mi'lane." she replied with a slight nod of her head. She was hoping that her outside appearance was not giving away her beating heart. She had only felt like this once before. But that was almost a turn before
she came to the Weyr, and her Father had started to look for a suitable match. The young man had been very handsome, and was very nice, and they had seemed to have a mutual attraction. But the search rider had found her and her brother, and she chose to come to the Weyr to become a dragonrider.

She smiled as she looked at his folded arms. He realized that he was still hiding the flowers that he had picked for her on his way back from his walk. "I have something for you," he said as he unfolded his arms. In his right
hand, he held three brightly colored flowers. "For you my lovely green rider" he said as he held out the flowers for her to take.

As she reached for them, he took her hand in his and lightly placed a kiss on the back of her hand. Trealeina could feel the heat rush once more from her neck to the top of her head. "The flowers are lovely, thank you Mi'lane" she said as she took the flowers. She would have blushed more except she was already flushed from the kiss he had placed upon her hand. With a smile that she hoped again would not show how much he was making her stomach do flip flops, she closed her eyes and inhaled the pretty flowers.

Placing his hand under her chin, he tilted her head up so that their eyes met. "They are not near as lovely as you are" he replied as he looked into her eyes. Trealeina seemed to stop breathing for a moment. Not really
wanting to be the one to break the silence, Mi'lane reached down and took Trealeina's free hand into his, "shall we go?" he asked quietly as he picked up the basket with his free hand.

Trealeina nodded and replied "Yes," as they walked hand in hand down the corridor. She wanted to ask where they were going, but feared if she said anything that it disturb the atmosphere that seemed to have developed
between them. Instead she surrendered herself to his lead. She smelled the flowers once more as they continued down the corridor.

As they rounded a corner they almost ran head first in R'len. A little surprised, Trealeina paused. "Hello R'len" she said with a smile greeting him, but not letting go of Mi'lane's hand Mi'lane tightened his grip on her hand slightly.

R'len looked at their joined hands, then looked from Trealeina to the rider that was so possessively holding her hand. He could feel his blood heating up. " Hello, Trealeina" he said rather curtly, fists starting to clench at
his side.

Mi'lane did not miss any of R'len's reactions to seeing Trealeina with him. He tightened his grip a little more, not realizing it for a few seconds, then seeing Trealeina was not letting go of his hand he relaxed a little.

Suppressing her own thoughts on why he was being curt, but the fact that Mi'lane was holding on to her hand as tightly as he was she knew he was not going to be swayed by R'len's show of jealousy. "Oh... sorry, I am being
rude. Mi'lan, this is R'len, he has been a friend of mine almost since the time I arrived a the Weyr." R'len nodded, almost as curtly as he had spoken. Trealeina continued "R'len, this is Mi'lane, he is visiting his cousin and I
have been invited to accompany him for the evening." Mi'lane gave R'len an informal nod.

"It is nice to meet you R'len. I wish I were so lucky to have known Trealeina for so long." Mi'lane put the basket down and put his hand out for a hand shake.

R'len only looked at the extended hand, then said "yes, I suppose I have been lucky to have known her for so long." he said as curly as he had spoken his initial greeting. "I see you have plans for the night, so I will take my
leave. Good evening to you both." He said as he turned to leave, fists still clenched at his side.

Trealeina took a deep breath, then looked up at Mi'lane and smiled the sweetest smile she could muster, considering the mood had been ruined by the unexpected meeting. "Shall we continue?"

"By all means" he smiled in return. After a few minutes of walking toward their destination, Mi'lane could not help but ask. "Is there something between you two?"

She shook her head. "No, there has never been anything between us."

"Is this going to cause a problem between you two?" he asked hesitantly.

"No," she said a little faster than she had intended. She had wanted to be with Mi'lane tonight, and did not want anything to spoil it.
