Carried Away

Description: Kamalia almost lets herself succumb to flight lust.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 24 of Turn 4
Notes: Comes right after "Interrupted Get-Together."

The green dragon blooded her kill, then took flight, quickly followed by a
number of brown and blue dragons, as well as one bronze. Kamalia
picked Relarth out of the group, but it was soon out of sight.

Z'kin was one of the riders closer to the greenrider, a middle-aged woman.
They all seemed to be in a trance. Z'kin reached out to her, arm wrapping
around her waist for a moment before she moved away from him.

Some of the emotions from the flight washed over Kamalia and she let
herself get lost in them. She had some time before she needed to be
anywhere, and no one she knew was likely to see her standing there,
watching.

Z'kin was blocked from sight as the riders shifted and Kamalia took
several steps forward to get a better view. Moments later, another rider let
out a groan and stepped away, his dragon having dropped out of the flight.
A man came up to him, offering consolation, but the rider angrily pushed
him away as he left, moving quickly to leave the scene.

Minutes passed and Kamalia moved closer, until she was just behind a
man and several women who were also watching the riders, although
obviously with a different goal in mind. She lost all sense of time as she
watched. Her face was flushed and her heart beat quickly. She didn't
know why she kept stepping forward, but she seemed to be moving
against her volition. Her eyes glued to Z'kin, she watched his every move,
as he swayed towards the greenrider, then away again. It was a sensual
dance, at times smooth, at times changing abruptly.

Another rider left, a middle-aged large man. His eyes met hers and he
came forward, arm coming around her waist to pull her to him.

"No!" she yelled, realizing she had come too close to the other watchers.
He thought she was there because… "No!" She pushed against his chest,
knowing she wasn't strong enough to get away but hoping to deter him.

"She's too young for you," a voice said from her left. One of the waiting
women turned his head toward her and kissed him. He immediately let go
of Kamalia. As they hurried away she turned to Kamalia. "Get out of here
if you're not ready for this!"

Kamalia, stunned, took several steps back, realizing how stupid she had
been. She had let flight lust overtake her.

Several moments later, Z'kin stumbled towards her, but Kamalia quickly
moved away and he chose the man who had been rejected earlier. She
turned away as they kissed and began walking back towards the weyrlake.
A nice long swim would hopefully calm her emotions and let her mind
begin to sort through what had happened.

Yes, cold water sounded like just the thing.
