Characters: Alasha, K'sper
Description: Alasha goes to K'sper and thanks him for rescuing herself and her family
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 5 of Turn 4

}:Bentith, Alasha wishes to see your rider:{ Neloneth spoke to the brown dragon as A'son and his sister mounted on.

The brown immediately gave permission, though he had no idea who Alasha might be. }:Company comes.:{ He bespoke his rider simply, matter-of-factly.

"Company?" K'sper spoke the word aloud as well as in thought to the dragon. **But this place is a mess.** He quickly grabbed for discarded clothing and shoved it into his trunk, uncertain what was dirty and what was clean.

Once he received permission from the brown, Neloneth sprung forcefully into the air as his wings swooped down carrying A'son and Alasha up the cliffs. He caught a quick gust of wind that threw him farther up until he reached his destination. His legs stretched out grasping the ledge and pulled himself in for a landing. Once he was satisfied that the ground was firmly under him again he turned to the brown dragon that the weyr belonged to.

The brown lowered his head to view the passengers that the other dragon carried. }:This is the one with the felines?:{ Alasha caught the inspecting glance of the brown. She only hoped she was presentable enough for K'sper, and found herself smoothing out any folds in her dress with her free hand. It was the best dress Alasha could find for the occasion. It was a dark forest green with black lace running at the edges, and it accented her curves just enough to catch an eye, but maintained enough modesty to be respectable. Along with the dress she had a black knitted shawl that draped over her shoulders, while her long ebony locks were pulled up with long strands tumbling down her back.
Again she doubted her appearance, but she refused to let it show. She kept her shoulders back and her chin held high, but she could not help but allow her fingers played with her insecurities as they toyed with the lining of the package in her hands.

Neloneth craned his neck around to young woman before he turned back to Bentith. }{ He replied with a whirl of blue in his eyes. }:She is the one from the feline attack, and she is my rider's sister:{ "Hello?" K'sper entered the outer chamber and looked up at the two passengers, still on dragonback, recognizing the rider but not the young woman. "Is there something you need of me?"

A'son slid down Neloneth's neck with ease, nimbly touching to the ground. "Me," A'son brushed that possibility off with a laugh. "No." He turned his eyes up to Alasha as Neloneth lifted an arm to assist her down. "My sister was the one that wanted to speak to you," he motioned to Alasha who nearly stumbled off the brown dragon, but was able to maintain some grace.

Her brother caught her at the waist before she tripped over herself and helped her down the rest of the way. She was grateful once her feet were on solid ground again, but she cursed her self for not having as much dexterity as A'son. **Remain calm** she reminded herself once she peered up at K'sper and caught her first glimpse of him. He seemed so different without a helmet and wher-hide jacket and it was enough to make her turn her eyes away. **Remain calm** Oh, why could she not be more like her mother? She bowed her head to the dragonrider before she stepped forward. "If it is alright by you, I was hoping to have a word with you, K'sper." Hope? No, she chided herself on her use of words, but she kept her face calm as she looked up to face him again. She would not allow him to see her minor embarrassment.

"Of course." His reply was automatic, though he asked of his dragon,
**Do we know her?**

Bentith had turned his attention to the other dragon, making a point of claiming his space, leaving plenty for the other dragon and yet showing who was most important in this particular weyr. His reply was terse.
}:The felines.:{ K'sper nodded slightly in recognition.

"I'll be right here if you need anything," her brother whispered to her.
"And don't worry so much. He won't bite."

Alasha grinned at her brother before she shifted her attention back to the brownrider and stepped forward to him. "Thank you, K'sper."

He shrugged, embarrassed that she had gone to such trouble to find him.
"I was merely doing my duty. Any dragonrider would have done the same."

She knew that, but still, what he had done had meant so much. "My mother taught me to always be thankful to those that do great deeds, rather than take them for granted," Alasha began as she remained calm, though she kept her eyes cast down away from him. "I am merely expressing my gratitude for what you did, K'sper. You saved my life, and my families life and for that I cannot keep that silent." She dared a glance at him as she finished her last words.

The brownrider nodded, a smile on his face, though his cheeks had gone red. "I'm glad that I could help and that all turned out well." He glanced toward the other dragonrider and then back to the young woman.
"The rest of your family - have they been brought back to the Weyr as well?"

She nodded to him as Zephyr gave a soft trill. "Yes, and they are going to remain here as well." She paused for a moment, turned her eyes back down to the gift that rested in her hands. Should she give it to him now? When else would she? "I also wanted to give you this," she lifted the hide bound package to him as her cheeks brightened. Would he like it? "It's a symbol of my appreciation for what you've done." Inside the bundle was the scarf that she had crocheted for him. She knew it was not nearly crafter quality. It was basic, simple. With its burgundy yarn, knots of string at the ends, and the weyr emblem stitched near the ends, she knew it would keep him warm, and only hoped it was to his liking.

He unwrapped the bundle slowly, touched that someone should consider his duty so highly. The wrappings fell away as his fingers ran over the wool, pausing at the emblem to inspect it. Finally, he lifted the scarf and placed it around his neck, offering her a smile. "It's lovely. Thank you."

Her eyes glinted with mirth. It was a relief that he enjoyed the gift.
"You're welcome, and I'm glad it's too your liking." Well, that was it, that was all she had to say. "Thank you again, K'sper, for everything,"
she gave him on last bow. "I'll leave you now to your work." If he had any work to be done.

"I was glad to be of service." He bowed in return. "And I'm happy that your family has been reunited."

"I'm glad too," she replied as her soft pink lips pulled into a serene smile. On those word she turned to rejoin her brother, though her eyes continually turned back to the brownrider, dancing at the encounter.
