Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 8, day 28 of Turn 4

"Okay, let's try this again," Ch'lis sighed with some frustration as Mare danced above his head. He beckoned her to come down, tempting her with a treat.

Food! Her thoughts cried out. She was more than happy to land on his hand. After she nibbled down the piece of meat she looked back at Ch'lis wondering what sort of game they were going to play now.

"Go find A'mus," he tried to make his desire as clear as possible. He projected an image of his good friend to her, but she only continued to look at him curiously before she looked around her surroundings and gave a chirp.

}:She cannot see him:{ Omath replied with a yawn.

**But that's the point** She had to go /between/ to A'mus. She was coming close to a month now since she was born and still she could not do the simple task. He worked with her every other night for the past month with Omath diligently watching, but one hour a day was just not enough. Training runnerbeasts was easier! **I don't know what to do, Omath**

****
Talking to Jadella and Tierk as she walked, Trealeina could hear who she thought was Ch'lis trying to get someone to go find A'mus. **oh yeah** She thought to herself, ** he may still be working with Mare.
Perhaps I should see if I can help.** She had heard him talking about problems he had been having training her. Tierk was a problem when she first started training him. she smiled to herself as she reached up to stroke his head.

Trealeina stepped closer to watch the trio. Ch'lis appeared to be frustrated as the green looked around from her perch on his hand.
"Ummm, Hi Ch'lis. I appologize for interupting, but you sounded a little frustrated. When I saw that you were working with your little green." Trealeina paused not wanting to offend or interrupt a work in progress. "You look a little frustrated as well, so" she shrugged " I thought maybe I could help"

Mare was delighted to see two other flits and she chattered wildly at them wanting nothing more than to play.

He sighed, but Trealeina was right. At this point he could use all the help he could get. "Thanks," he was more than willing to accept her offer."I've been working with her for sevenday after sevenday. She's got the very basics like coming when she's called, and going to Omath, but..." beyond that she was just becoming frustrating. She was like a child with a low attention span. "But beyond that, it's like hitting a dead end with her. She understands I want to her to go to A'mus, and she knows he's not _here_, but she can't put two and two together that he is somewhere else, and she needs to go _/between/_ to him."

Trealeina told her two to stay still quiet for a while so they did not distract Mare from her instruction.

"Hhhmmm. Can you tell me what you have done so far?" she asked, with several ideas running through her head.

"Okay," he would start with the basics. He glanced at Omath. The blue was resting on the shore with half of his body submerged under the lapping waves. Ch'lis made the image of the blue as clear as possible.
Mare glanced at Omath and gave a happy chirp, but was purely delighted when she saw Ch'lis pull out a small bit of dry meat for her. She dove off his hand and jumped /between/.

}:She came to me:{ Omath informed his rider.

The green flit chattered at the blue before disappearing again and gliding onto Ch'lis's shoulder. Her eyes whirled awaiting her reward.
"See, she understands how to find someone when they're right there in the same room. So she knows what she's supposed to do," he tossed her the small treat that she quickly caught and gobbled up. "But when they're not in the room, it's like she's lost."

Trealeina thought as she tapped her finger on her chin. "When I was having problems with Tierk, the little glutton only thought about the food. The way I finally got Tierk to go to my brother was, My Brother showed Tierk that he had the treat, not me. then my Brother went inside the kitchen. I showed Tierk the image with my Brother with the treat in the kitchen and told him "go to Hardelane" It took him a second before it clicked, but he did get to him."

She thought for a few seconds then added "But there was one other thing. I also gave him an image of where Hardelane was, not just an image of him. They instinctively know how to go between, but they also need to know where when you are training them. Jadella, now only needs to know who to go to, but for Tierk, I still have to show him an image of Hardelane at home. Perhaps she just needs a little more information."

"You know, I never thought of that." Ch'lis turned his his dragon.

**Omath** he called on his blue.

}:Yes:{
**Tell Inith to get A'mus back to the lakes**

Omath yawned }:Okay. Inith, Ch'lis wants A'mus to come to the weyrlakes:{ There was a moment of silence.

}:Okay, Inith says that A'mus is coming:{ "A'mus is coming over so we can try this," he replied to her. "Oh,"
and he almost forgot. "I hope you know I really appreciate this..." It would have taken him forever to get it right with out her.

Trealeina smiled, "Not a problem, anytime I can help, just let me know."

It was a few minutes before A'mus finally arrived. "And why couldn't you come to me?" the young bronzerider was slightly peeved.

Ch'lis only chuckled "Because I'm lazy!"

A'mus shook his head "I can believe that. So what's this big plan of yours?"

"Well, it's not my plan, it's hers," he motioned to Trealeina. "You explain it. I'll just fumble over myself if I try," he replied humorously to the greenrider.

Trealeina chuckled, "OK, well" she started as she looked to A'mus "I was just telling Ch'lis about what I did when I had a similar problem with my blue Tierk." She smiled fondly as she patted his little head.
"My Brother Hardelane would show Tierk that he had the treat, not me. He would then go to the Kitchen or another pre-decided place.
I would then give Tierk an image of Hardelane in the kitchen with the treat." She smiled and shrugged her shoulders, "It worked for him, I thought maybe if Mare had just a little more information to go on then maybe she would get to where she was supposed to go."

"Now why couldn't you think of that," A'mus spat playfully at Ch'lis.
"I'm sorry for my friend here," he turned to Trealeina with a charming smile. "He can be half-witted sometimes."

Ch'lis only laughed back. "And forgive A'mus, he can be flirtatious sometimes."

Trealeina returned her own best smile, letting out a small laugh.
"Well, no matter, I am thankful to be in such good company." She said winking playfully.

"Happy to be of service," A'mus responded as he eyed Trealeina subtly, and then Ch'lis elbowed him.

"So here's her treat. Make sure she sees it, and then-"

"Go back to the kitchen, I know," A'mus rolled his eyes, but he dared one more glance at Trealeina and small smile. She was pretty he thought to himself before Ch'lis sent him away.

Trealeina slightly raised her left eyebrow, as she chuckled over the scene. She had thought A'mus was rather cute, and definitely a good personality. She allowed herself a smile in return as A'mus left the lake. She was not used to this kind of antics unless it was from her brothers and cousins when they were teasing her about something. It was quite exhilarating. She was definitely glad she stopped in to help. She just hoped it worked this way. If not she had a few more ideas.

}:A'mus is in the dining hall now:{ Omath signaled his rider.

"Okay let's try this again." Ch'lis whistled for Mare to land on his hand.
Mare chattered wildly at the opportunity for another treat, but when she looked at his hand there was nothing there. Was this a trick?
"Let's hope for the best." He projected the image of A'mus with the treat in his hand.

He had the treat? But where was he? Mare looked around still lost. she wanted that treat, but could not find it. She looked back at Ch'lis with eagerly whirling eyes. Again she saw the image. It was more forceful and detailed now. A'mus was standing in a large cavernous room with hearths, and tables, and other people... But where was that?
It was so familiar to her, making it even more frustrating to her. But she knew it, she knew where it was, but where... Mare let out an triumphant small bugle before she leaped off Ch'lis's hand and disappeared /between/.

"Yeeesss" Trealeina said as she jumped up pumping her fist in the air.
"Well?" she asked Ch'lis "What do you think? Do you think she made it?" not wanting to celebrate prematurely. But she felt sure that his goal had been accomplished.

**Did she make it?** he asked of Omath to ask Inith.

There was a long pause. }:Yes, Inith says that she is with A'mus.
She's very proud of herself:{ Ch'lis let out a sigh of relief. "She made it," thanks to Trealeina.

"Great, you did it" Trealeina almost shouted happily patting his shoulder. Her pair of firelizards squaking happily, even though they were not really sure what they were happy about, but as long as Trealeina was happy, they were happy. "Now summon her back, It would not hurt to repeat this a couple of times more to make sure she is comfortable with it."

"Yeah," he agreed with her. It was like training a canine. He gave Mare an image of himself and before he had finished with the image, the little flit appeared over his head whistling and rolling in the air.

She had done it! She finally did as he wanted her too. It pleased her that she had satisfied Ch'lis's request and already she wanted to do it again. Her body acerobatically whirled in the air as fast as her eyes whirled in their blues and greens. Again, she thought, she wanted to do it again. And before Ch'lis could give her the image again already she had zipped back /between/ to A'mus.

"Wow," he blinked in surprise. "She already went back to A'mus before I could even finish."

}:She's proud of herself:{ Omath added with a tinge of humor laughing in his tone.

"Perfect, now that she has it, I don't think you will have any problems with her" Trealeina smiled broadly patting his shoulder again. "I am glad I could help." She told him. "Anytime I can help, I will gladly lend a hand."

"Good," he responded with a grin. "I might take you up on that."
