For a moment U'kaiah was too stunned to react. He just closed his eyes
and accepted the kiss, feeling the shockwaves of her touch course through
his veins. But the impulse to respond in kind was quickly drowned out by
a flash of panic. Just what in Faranth's name was she doing?! U'kaiah
pulled back, enough to look her straight in the eye. Was it just the
wine, or did she really know what she was doing? The heat in her eyes
answered any doubt of that. Oh yes, she knew exactly what she was doing.
Lifting her other hand, she pressed her shaking palm to the side of his
face. "U'kaiah..."
He could feel her fingers tremble as she caressed his skin. She felt more
than just desire. She felt fear as well. The same fear that was in him.
This could change _everything_... Or it could be one night that in the
morning they would brush aside and blame on too much wine and candlelight.
He didn't know if he wanted things to change, but he knew he didn't want
them to stop either... "Say my name again, Trae," he whispered, his eyes
drifting down to her slightly parted lips.
"U'kaiah..."
"No." He reached up to trace his thumb lightly across those lips, those
sharding perfect lips... "My real name..."
As his thumb passed over her mouth, she kissed it, meeting his eyes.
"Uzrakaiah." And she poured everything into his name.
It was amazing how the way she purred his name could undo him so
completely. Any reservation, any resolve melted away as those four
syllables rang in his ears. Leaning in, he pressed his lips to the top of
her jaw and traced soft, lingering kisses along the length of it until he
reached the very corners of her lips.
Traelyn turned her head so her mouth could linger on his...and she slowly
began to kiss him there. Her heart raced in her chest, her soft breaths
were shallow as desire began to glide completely over and through her
body, making her flesh burn. ...Finally. Finally! A soft noise escaped
her as she moved a hand to the back of his neck, urging him closer to her.
As close as he could be.
His tongue slide across her lower lip, teasingly brushing against the tip
of hers and he could feel her fingers tighten. U'kaiah pulled back once
more as he turned his body towards hers, slipping his arm under her knees
and lifting her into his arms. As his turned to lay her back on the bed,
he looked down into those burning eyes with an intensity in his own gaze
to match. Had all notion of caution really been abandoned this easily
after being fostered and tended for so long?
Grasping his hand, fingers linking, she drew him almost imperiously
towards her, over her. Her hips rose to meet his even as she lifted her
head, lips melting against his as she sought what he'd been more than
willing to give just moments before. And when he complied... Shards.
His fingers tightened around hers as she welcomed his kisses. They were
first soft and curious, but as she reached up to dig her fingers into his
curls they grew more heated, almost demanding. She had played with his
hair a hundred times, but not like this. It had never been like this.
With a groan he rolled, pulling her with him. Now she was the one
hovering over him and he looked up at her - smoldering grey eyes, pink
swollen lips and framed by that hair - that long, soft, white-blonde hair
he had always loved. Never would he have imagined such a sight and it
thrilled him to the core. His hands slid along her back and buried
themselves in her tendrils, pulling her down to him once more.
When their lips parted, Traelyn pulled back just enough to meet his eyes,
her own hazy with desire. Then she dipped her head, pressing swift kisses
to his jaw, his throat... Her hands slipped from his hair to caress over
his chest and down his sides, teeth closing on the side of his neck...and
she wondered what it would be like to touch his skin, to feel it burn
beneath the palms of her hands.
Following her curiosity, Traelyn snarled softly, rolling him so that he
was above her, and she stared up at him, a challenging, aroused light in
her dark eyes. Her hips began to gently move against his, and an almost
feral smile touched the corners of her lips. And as she held his eyes,
her fingers snuck under the hem of his dress tunic, but another, lighter
shirt obstructed their path to his flesh. Her nostrils flared in
frustration, and then suddenly in satisfaction as she pulled the bottom of
that dratted shirt from his pants.
For a moment U'kaiah felt a flash of panic. **What were are we _doing_?**
It was all so surreal. There had been no hint, no indication that this
was coming. In the space of an evening he went from wanting to help her
to wanting to have her, and it was all happening so fast. This was not
the Trae he had always known. She was a stranger, and yet not. **Too
fast...** But how was he supposed to sharding think with her moving
against him like that? With her looking at him like that? With her
wanting him like that...
She buried her face into the curve of his neck and shoulder, hands sliding
up the hot flesh of his back, tracing his spine, exploring the curved arch
as her fingertips reached his shoulderblades, then they dropped back down
to the small of his back, nails lightly scraping against his skin. The
sensations thrumming through her as she touched him, kissed him...shards,
they were addictive. Traelyn couldn't stop...and she didn't want to.
U'kaiah closed his eyes and just let the waves of desire she was invoking
in him wash over his body. **If it were any other woman...** In this
battle between his mind and body, he knew which one he wanted to win. It
was time to stop thinking and just do what his body wanted, what came
perfectly naturally between men and women. He leaned into her and kissed
her, deliberately driving back all sensible thought. **Damn the
consequences!** his mind demanded as his lips traveled down her throat.
The soft whimpers just spurred him on past her collarbone. His lips were
determined as they traveled along the scoop of her collar.
His fingers reached for the first tie, but there they stilled, a thought
flooding his mind, effectively dousing the fire that had been raging
inside. If they woke up in the morning and realized they had acted rashly,
they couldn't take it back. They couldn't erase it. **If this is a
mistake, no amount of wine or candlelight can excuse it away...** He
could lose her...
She felt him pause, and her eyes fluttered open to look at him. Quietly
she said his name, fingers touching his cheek, turning his face to hers.
The way she murmured his name, the look in her eyes... U'kaiah knew that
it would be a long, long time before he could sleep innocently by her side
and not remember this night and this Trae. **Things are already
changing...** He mustered a small smile and leaned forward to press his
lips to hers softly. His kisses had lost their intensity, but if
anything, the longing had only deepened.
The fire in her, however, was still burning. But a sense of fear was
slowly beginning to mingle with it, dulling the sharpest edge of her
desire. Had she acted too soon? Traelyn gazed up at him, searching his
eyes, her fingers falling away from his cheek. Had she completely ruined
her chance? Already he was pulling away from her...distancing
himself...rejecting her. Because that was what that soft kiss had been,
hadn't it? A gentle rejection?
He just couldn't look at her when she looked at him like that. This night
was not supposed to happen this way. His intentions had been to help her
relax, not complicate things. But they had turned complicated in a hurry.
And if she kept looking at him like that he knew it would be just so easy
to make things a whole lot worse. Sighing he laid his head down on her
chest, wrapping his arms around her and listening to the thudding of her
heartbeat. He knew his was beating in his chest with the same fast-paced
rhythm, just slightly out of sync.
Swallowing thickly, she stared up at the ceiling. **What have I sharding
done?** Hesitantly she brought her hand to his hair, wishing he'd say
something to her so this awful silence between them would be broken.
Shards, she wished _she_ could think of something to say. But she
couldn't. And so the two of them laid there, silent and unmoving save for
the rising and falling of their chests as their breathing began to even
out.
U'kaiah closed his eyes and let her fingers running through his hair sooth
him. As good as the familiar affection felt, he knew he needed to think
and
be alone. Finally he pushed himself up, and without looking her in the
eye he kissed her forehead tenderly. "I should clean up," he murmured.
It was a lame way to excuse himself he knew, but really, what could he
say? Things would be easier in the morning. They had to be.
