Description: The sisters meet for breakfast and notice Royani is nowhere to be
found
Location: Garnet Valley Hold
Date: month 3, day 1 of Turn 4
It was the morning after the Hallmaster's wedding, and most were probably quiet, still sleeping after the dancing and spectacular feasting that had accompanied it. But not Fieayz, she was on her way to meet her sister for breakfast.
Jielta was never one to sleep late, far too acustom to early mornings spent helping in the kitchens. Since she was certain everyone else would be asleep, she had agreed to meet Fieayz and Royani for an early breakfast. She sat, cup of klah in hand, waiting for her sister to arrive.
"Jielta," called out her sister from behind her. "You made it."
"And earlier than you, apparently. Too much partying last night?"
"But you can't tell me it wasn't worth it." She'd danced with all the eligible men in the area. While she hadn't appeared to favour any one in particular, there had been one of them who had more than caught her eye.
"It was a good party," Jielta agreed noncommitaly. She had eaten lots of good food and had a few fun dancing partners. What more could you ask for?
"I guess Royani had more fun than either of us... she's late."
"I thought she would have come down with you? Didn't you knock on her door?"
asked Fieayz.
"I didn't think to," Jielta replied. "Her room isn't even close to mine, so I just figured we would all meet here..."
"Should we go and get her?" suggested the older girl. "Even if she doesn't want to eat, she might want to tell us what made her sleep in like this?"
Fieayz grinned. "If it was that good a time, she ought to share the details."
"We should go check on her at least," Jielta agreed, getting up from the table. Her mind wasn't quite as dirty as her sister's, but she did worry that perhaps Royani had had too much to drink the night before.
"Let's go then." Fieayz got to her feet as well. "Which way is it?"
"Just follow me." the younger girl stated, as they headed out for the dining hall. "Its really not like her to be late, I mean, I know it was a long night... but still."
"She's probably just slept in."
"I guess." They were at her door now, and Jielta knocked softly on it. When there was no response she knocked harder, then finally banged loudly when still no one answered.
"Royani!" called out Fieayz. "It's Fieayz and Jielta. Can we come in?" There was still no answer. "Do you think she's gone to the necessaries?"
"She just happened to be there right now when we are looking for her? I guess its possible, but it seems unlikely."
"I'll just go check." Fieayz slipped down the corridor, but quickly returned. "Not there."
"I'm getting worried," Jielta stated. "Where else could she be?"
"I don't know," answered her sister. "Should we go in? If she drank enough wine last night she could have slept through all this racket we've made."
"Sounds like a smart idea," she agreed, knocking on final time, then pushing the door open. The room was empty, the bed furs made, with a simple blue dress lying across the corner of the bed. "That's the dress she wore last night before we all got dressed up for last nights festivities. Which means she didn't sleep here last night."
From what Fieayz had seen of the girl she didn't seem the type to have found a bed partner for the night, but maybe... Despite all the handsome men available as a Lord Holder's daughter she'd have a reputation to think of but drink could make reputations be forgotten about. "You don't think..."
suggested Fieayz.
"She might have," Jielta admited. "But she has rank, and that means she has a lot to lose. If she was going to spend the night with someone, I don't think she would be so obvious about it."
"Should we tell someone then? Isn't her brother with her?"
"Perhaps we should go find him?"
"Perhaps we should."
