Adjustment Assignment

Writers: Draconafin, Roxanne
Date Posted: 25th March 2007

Characters: D'wrayt, Az'uka
Description: D'wrayt asks A'zuka to help with getting a new bluerider to adjust to the Weyr
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 2, day 12 of Turn 4

"Thank you for coming to drills early, A'zuka. I wanted to talk to you about our new bluerider, M'gibal." D'wrayt said as the bluerider approached him.

Az'uka flashed the Weyrleader a smile as he walked over, it was true enough that he was in the Weyrleader's wing; but the two hadn't often met up socially sine Az'uka had joined Dragonsfall Weyr just over 6 months ago. Some may have seen this as either a good thing or a bad thing, either way though Az'uka had yet to bring the Weyrleader's wrath down on himself which added to the smile he was already boasting.

"Of course D'wrayt" he returned, using the Weyrleader's name rather than rank, taking advantage of the semi-informal nature of their meeting.

"He's having a little trouble adjusting to the drills. I thought that you might be able to give him some pointers on areas that might help him get a feel for the wing as it wasn't that long ago that you joined our wing."

The bluerider smiled, remembering quiet well how it had been adjusting to the wing, giving a nod he addressed his Weyrleader again. "I remember that, I'd be more than happy to help out"

}: Hmmm... He trusts you, just don't ruin it by turning M'gibal into a dare devil like yourself and we should be fine :{ Nilzuth interjected "I appreciate it. I want to make his transition as smooth as possible and sometimes it's easier to talk to someone who knows what you're going through than the Weyrleader. If you need anything or have any questions do let me know."

Az'uka gave a nod, understanding where the Weyrleader was going with that statement, being new to the Weyr made it all that much harder to try and fit in, even at the best of times. "Sure" was the simple
reply to D'wrayt's statement that if anything was needed.

}: Do you think he could arrange to have your head checked? :{ The blue dragon intoned smugly, taking his own advantage of the situation; even though there weren't that many openings to make fun of his rider at the present time.

"Here he comes." D'wrayt said as he turned to greet the other riders who had begun arriving. He was going to keep a close eye on those two, but he hoped that the experience would benefit both riders.
