N'call

N'call

Haloth settled himself onto the rim of his weyr, as glad as his rider that drills were finished on this wet, dreary day. N'call jumped off his bronze and into the shelter of his weyr. The bronze followed, shaking off the rainwater all over his rider.

"Thanks you big bronze oaf." N'call said sarcastically to his bronze.

}:You're welcome.:{ Haloth sounded smug as he settled himself onto his couch to dry. N'call snorted at his bronzes attitude. After changing out of his wet and cold flight gear and letting them dry near the hearth, N'call pulled out his old guitar and a stool and settled in next to his bronze to play.

Haloth lifted his head and leaned in to listen. He loved it when his rider played music and sang. N'call pulled out some worn hide that had scribbles and marks littering the edges of the score.

"I wrote this one the other day after I watched you swimming Hal." He patted his bronzes nose before strumming a tuning chord and beginning the song. When the song ended Haloth gave an encouraging rumble.

}:I think that's your best yet.:{ He told his rider, his eyes whirling bluey-green.

"How would you know you big oaf?" N'call grinned at his bronze and slapped him lightly on the nose. "You're as tone deaf as my father." Haloth snorted at his rider, sending the scores flying all over the floor.

"Now see what you did." If N'call didn't know better he would say the dragon was smiling. After that N'call brought out some partially finished instruments and a table from his work room and set them up near the bronze.

"And then you slide the string through here." N'call showed his bronze as he strung the newly finished violin. Haloth looked at it curiously.

}:And then sound comes out?:{ He asked.

"Uh huh, if you play it right." N'call proceeded to play a chord on the instrument with the bow. He then jumped into the refrain of his bronzes favorite reel.

}:That's my favorite song.:{ The bronze said happily once N'call was done.

"I know that's why I built this so you could hear it more often." N'call put the violin down carefully into the soft case he'd had made, and went to work on a flute he'd had commissioned from one of the greenriders he knew. Haloth settled in for a nap. N'call grinned at his big bronze.

"I love you Hal." He said and patted the bronze on the nose one last time.

}:I love you too Nic.:{
