Oria

Mosler looked down from the green's back and gave a final wave to his Hallsecond before she launched in the air. He knew Kouna was furious about being left behind, but he didn't want to offend Rollif by insisting she be allowed to come along. She wouldn't have fit on the green anyways, not with the seaman who had found Tippo coming along to show him the island.

It didn't take long before they were high enough for /between/ and then the hold vanished, being replaced by open water except for a respectable sized island and sheltered cove. After a few words in front of him he couldn't hear between the seaman and the dragonrider, the green started to descend.

"Its jus' this way sir's." The seaman told the Hallmaster and Holder as soon as the green touched down and everyone was dismounted. "I foun' the poor man righ' over here." He led them toward the sight.
Over large rocks and boulders toward the cliffs along the cove.

"It was lucky you were here," said Rollif. "Who knows how long the poor man would have been out here otherwise."

"Luck ain't got nothin' to do wit it sir. I was up this way like I is e'ery day and I sawed the odd shape in between the rocks. He weren't a pretty sight let me tell you sirs." The man led them to the spot.

Even though the body had been removed, you could see the blood stains on the rocks and still smell the death stench lingering on the air.

The lack of respect for Tippo's death disturbed Mosler, and he fought down his anger by inspecting the scene. "Was anything found down here or on his person? Any notes, drawings, anything?"

"Not that I'm aware of," stated the Holder.

"No Master Mosler sir, there was barely a lick on 'im.
A skimpy s'imsuit you dolphinfolk wear but that was it." The seaman shrugged at the Master Dolphineer.
"After I foun' the body I looked up along the cliff for a place 'e could 'ave fallen from. I could shows ya both if ya like sir's?"

Mosler doubted that if the seaman had taken anything for himself that he would fess up to it in front of his holder, but there was nothing to be done about that now. "Please do. Tippo is not the sort to go climbing cliffs or falling off the tops of them."

'Its a hard climb sirs. Would the dragonrider mind takin' us? Don't want you to ruin your good tunic would we?" The man grinned showing a few holes in his smile where teeth should have been.

"Of course not," Oria smiled back. "Degrorth says she can get us there, no problems."

"Is it that path there?" Mosler pointed to a rough cut trail a ways off. "I'd rather take the route Tippo would have taken, it might give some clue as to why he might be on top of a cliff. Rollif, why don't you take the dragon way and this good man can lead me up to you?"

"If you insist Mas'er Mosler sir." t seaman began to lead the dolphineer up the track in the cliffside, leaving Rollif to mount the dragon on his own.

It took them near half an hour to get up to the top, and once they did there didn't seem to be anything remotely interesting up there. "I just don't see anything that would tempt my journeyman to make the climb up here. Especially if you said he was just in swim gear. Without sturdy boots, I would have sliced my feet several times on those rocks coming up."

"I wouldn't know sir, I'm jus' the guy who foun' him."
the seaman bent down to a slight depression in the greenery. "This is wher I guessed he fell from. See the way the dirt be shifted and the plants squashed down?" He pointed with his middle finger because he was missing the first joint on his pointer.

Mosler wasn't impressed as he surveyed the area.
"Tippo said in his letter that he found a cave or pit and some signs of habitation, do you know of it?" he asked both the seaman and the holder as he saw the man approach.

"No sir I saw nothin' o' the kind. I just saw the lad's body, nothin more." te seaman shrugged.

Rollif waved from the back of the dragon. "That's when he called me over. It wasn't a pretty sight." Boy... these two sure didn't seem to be making things any easier on him. "Well, I guess we should have a look around the island then. Maybe signs of use along the beaches? The dolphins said there were men on this island so there has to be signs of them somewhere."
