Writers: Roxanne

Characters: D'wrayt
Description: D'wrayt contemplates becoming a father yet again.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 2, day 1 of Turn 4

It seemed like just yesterday he had met the woman that he had thought he would spend the rest of his life with. She had been gone several turns now and he had been through a time that he thought he might never have recovered from. He had been a grieving Weyrlingmaster and then became a strong Weyrleader when the Weyr needed him the most.

Now, he was going to be a father again. It was a really frightening thought at times, but mostly he was very excited. He wanted to have a son, but he would love a daughter just the same as his other three. His sister had agreed to come and be the baby's fostermother, so he was anticipating her arrival in a few days so that she would be all settled in and ready for the baby's arrival. It was still aways off he thought, but with babies you never know. Some come earlier than planned and some take their sweet time about their arrival.

He wondered if they would ever be able to decide on a name that seemd right to both of them. He had had the same trouble with each of his children except for the last child that Eknaryi had been carrying. They were going to name the baby Dawnary if it was a girl or Rayek if it was a boy. He had been so sure that she was carrying a boy. It still bothered him that he hadn't taken more of a stance against her working in the infirmary while carrying their child.

That was why he checked up on Arilanna as often as he could even though she was well past the stage Eknaryi was when she contracted the plague while helping the sick patients. That had been one of the most scary parts of his life.

}:D'wrayt! D'wrayt!:{ Treadoryth called urgently interrupting the bronzerider's thoughts as he avoided the work on his desk.

**What?**

}:There's a rider at your door. Their dragon just asked me to make sure you were in your office. Did you fall asleep?:{

**No. I was just thinking about things.**

}:Well, go answer your door. It'll be allright. You'll see.:{

D'wrayt nodded and went to see who had been knocking. He had been so lost in thought that he hadn't even heard the knocking.
