Description: How to wind up in bed with a bluerider and a goldrider
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 8, day 2 of Turn 3
**If he's not resting, I'm going to yell and snarl at him until he does...** Trae growled to herself as she approached U'kaiah's door.
}:You already are snarling, Trae.:{
Her lip curled slightly at that. **Hopefully I won't need to snarl out loud then.** She rapped on his door once before she opened it and stuck her head inside. It was bright in his weyr, so he obviously wasn't asleep. Sharding bronzerider.
"U'kaiah?" she called.
His voice drifted out from the bathing area. "Yeah, just a moment!"
Folding her arms over her chest, she crossed the room to where his voice had come from. He should be _asleep_.
He ducked out from behind the curtain just as she reached it, towel securely wrapped around his waist. "Shards, Trae, that was the _best_
bath I've had in all my life!"
She glared at him. "You should be asleep."
"As if I haven't been asleep for days!" he said with a laugh as he pulled the towel off and began rubbing at his hair. The bronzerider pointed in the direction of his sleeping area. "Will you grab me some fresh trousers? I think there should be some over there."
Muttering about the common sense that all bronzeriders seemed to be lacking - and needed desperately - Traelyn went to his sleeping room, and only moments later, returned with his pants. She watched him towel off his hair, glaring at the top of his head. "Really, U'kaiah. You should at least be lying down." She jabbed a finger at his couch.
"Sorry, love," he said with a wink as he slipped into his trousers. "I'm expecting company."
She was tired of glaring at him, so she clenched her jaw instead. "At this candlemark?" Granted, it was the early evening, but for a man still recovering, it might as well be the middle of the bloody night.
He grabbed her arms and said, "Yes, at this candlemark and hopefully for a long time. It has been a while and I am in serious need."
"In need of just _what_, exactly?" she growled, trying very hard to resist the urge to rip herself out of his grasp.
"Wine!" N'klar called from the ledge, where Julerith had just dropped him, and was now socializing a little with Kalamanth. "I've brought wine, U'kaiah..."
The bluerider had been expected, so he just walked on into the Weyr. He came to a stop when he saw Traelyn and U'kaiah in such an ..interesting ..
position. "I can come back though?"
"Why?" U'kaiah asked confused as he looked up at the bluerider. Looking back down at his state of dress he started to chuckle. "Ah, it's just Trae. She's just another of the boys tonight," he said with an affectionate slap to the goldrider's shoulder. "We could use another drinking buddy, right, N'klar?"
**Just another one of the _boys_?** Then she looked at the bluerider. "He should be _sleeping_, N'klar," she told him, pointing a finger at U'kaiah.
"Just one of the boys are you?" N'klar grinned at her, thinking to himself that U'kaiah would pay for _that_ remark! Hearing Trae, he looked at U'kaiah, considering. "He will be sleeping, as soon as we drink ourselves drunk. Why don't you join us, Traelyn? I went to the Vintner Hall for special wines for my two best friends.."
"Ah, N'klar, if I wasn't a bronzerider I'd kiss you!" U'kaiah cried happily, side stepping Trae entirely in his enthusiasm for fine wine. "Which one will we open first?"
Watching him slip away from her, she ground her teeth a little, considering the offer, and knowing that U'kaiah was going to stay up late drinking whether she unleashed her temper at him or not. Sharding bronzerider. And why shouldn't she stay? She loved wine, and N'klar had wonderful taste...and he had gotten those flasks just for her and U'kaiah...
Her expression changed, and she followed U'kaiah, giving the bluerider a genuine smile. "I think I will join you, N'klar." Who was she to say no to good wine and company? Then she turned her gray eyes back to the bronzerider. "And I'm _not_ a _boy_," she grumbled at him.
"You're right, Trae, I'm sorry," the bronzerider said with a serious expression that soon turned into a grin, "because you're drinking with me and I intend to make a _man_ out of you!"
She glared at him. "What if I want to stay a _woman_?"
"Whoa, goldrider," U'kaiah said, throwing his hands up as if he could defend himself from the annoyed stare thrown his way. "You can be a woman if that makes you feel better. But I have to warn you, I get friendly with women when I get drunk."
Typical. "I'm not afraid of _you_."
N'klar let them fight it our for a few minutes while he chose a favorite of his, and of Trae's as well. He wasn't as certain of U'kaiah's tastes, but it was wet! Grinning at the pair of them. "What about getting friendly with men, U'kaiah? I'll feel left out..." He swooped an arm around Traelyn. "Don't be scared, lady love. One devastating smile..or one flask over the head... and bronzeboy there will fall right over!"
He offered the flask to them both. "Let's get busy, we've got a lot of drinking..and a lot of falling.. to do."
Trae took the offered flask and took a healthy swig. Her _favorite_!
She grinned appreciatively at the bluerider as she passed the flask back. "That one's been well-aged, N'klar."
"I don't care how old it is as long as it's _strong_," the bronzerider said before taking a few healthy sized swallows.
Trae glanced at him while she leaned companionably against N'klar. "Age is important. And I think it's strong enough, don't you?"
"If I'm still standing it's not strong enough!" U'kaiah said as he took a another swig and made his way to the sofa. "N'klar, I cannot tell you how much I missed you!"
N'klar grinned at U'kaiah, shaking his head. A grin at Trae revealed a wink and a nod. "Its very well-aged; I took it from the Vintner Hall's best secret stash. And give it a moment, U'kaiah. Its guaranteed to knock even a bronzerider of your.. prowess.. right over." He laughed and poured his own mug full.
Traelyn wrapped an arm around N'klar's waist and steered him towards the couch. Grinning, she plopped down in the middle between the two men, then held her own mug out expectantly at the bluerider. "Pour me some?"
The bronzerider downed the rest of his cup and leaned over Trae. "And another for me too. I intend to get really drunk tonight."
She spared a sharp glance at him, but with-held a biting response that danced on the tip of her tongue.
N'klar busied himself pouring for them all, and pulled Traelyn back down on the couch between himself and the bronzerider. "What shall we drink to? In order to help our good bronzerider speed his way to inebriation?"
Traelyn snorted. "How about his health?"
"Bah! He's healthy as a runner! Look at him.. " the bluerider grinned slyly between his two closest friends. He was not possessed of the mothering influence all the women in U'kaiah's life seemed to have, and frankly trusted the bronzerider to know his own mind. But more than that, he trusted Kalamath.
"But if it will please you, Trae, we'll drink to an entire Weyr of healthy riders.." And there went his glass again, along with a silly grin.
"It pleases me," she grinned back before taking a rather healthy swig of the strong wine.
"Well, whether it pleases our drinking buddy or not, my glass is now empty again," U'kaiah said piteously as he stared down into the bottom of his cup. "I think it must have a hole it. Or else I'm back in form." He grinned as he leaned over Trae to have it refilled.
N'klar refilled the mug, and laughed in delight. "Oh U'kaiah! I've Missed you!" Happily pouring for the wine, oblivious to any hint of disapproval, N'klar added to his own mug. "Last one to the bottom of his.. or her.. glass has to fetch the next flask from the pile there by the door." The bluerider pointed, slightly shakily, at the treasures he'd brought with him. "Drink up!"
