"Good morning!" Zanen greeted as he walked up to the man. "I haven't had the pleasure yet of meeting you in person, Harper Carlan."
"And you are?" asked the Harper politely.
"Zanen," he offered his hand. "I'm a hunter, though I do a few other things as well."
"Well met," replied the harper as he took the proffered hand. "Might I ask what brings you to Garnet Valley?"
"Well, seeing as harpers have a good amount of discretion, I'll let you know I'm here to see if I can help with the feline problem," he said.
"I see. it is a worry. I've asked my wife to stay close to the hold, particularly if she goes out with the baby."
"Good advice," Zanen nodded. "But I don't think it's quite that bad yet, and I hope to have it taken care of before it gets there."
"And I am sure you will," said the harper. "Is there anything I can do for you? To make things easier?"
The hunter shook his head. "Nope. Not right now. Just thought it was a good idea to introduce myself to the local harper."
"Always a smart move."
"That it is," Zanen chuckled. "I heard you mention you have a little one.
Boy or girl?"
"A little girl, Ryannae. She's seven months old."
"Aw, she must be a precious sight. Is she your first?"
"She is, and she';s very myuch loved. I'd like to see her have some brothers and sisters though."
"It's nice to have siblings to play with," Zanen said. "Got two younger sisters myself, though I spent more time rambling with my canine than playing with them."
"Ryannae is a little young for that yet, but a puppy or kitten when she's older."
"Animals make good companions. Couldn't imagine my life without them."
Zanen's smile was fond as he thought of his canines.
"Once she's a little older, we'll almost certainly think about it."
"She's a lucky little girl, to have a dad like you."
"We'll see if my wife still thinks so in a few turns."
Zanen laughed and clapped the harper on the back. "Oh, I'm sure she will!"
Carlan laughed back, it was a nice thought.
