"Shards, what a day," Kiomo groaned as he flopped back on Gleniel's bed.

"What happened?" she asked, coming over to perch beside him. The expression on her face was a concerned one as she looked down at him.

"Nothing bad. It was just long," he shrugged as he reached up to wrap an arm around her waist. "But it always seems that way when I know I'm going to have a chance to see you at the end of it. The time just goes too slowly."

"You usually do more than just see me," she murmured, slanting him a coy smile.

"I like seeing all of you," he chuckled, reaching up to play with the tie of her tunic tauntingly. His face soon turned serious. "I won't be able to meet you for a few days, Glen."

Her face fell. "Why?" she asked softly, disappointment crashing against her.

He frowned slightly as he tugged gently at the cloth binding. "Lord Ishek and I have to go to Quartz River Hold. I have to prepare for the trip, and then we'll be gone for a couple days."

"Oh." Trying to swallow her emotions, she gave him a small smile. "Is there any specific reason why you're going there?"

"Lord Ishek would like to inspect his holdings. I am a political advisor." He reached up to touch her cheek softly. "I don't like the idea of being away from you either."

Gently she brushed her cheek against that finger, savoring the feel as it traced down to the line of her jaw. Shards and shells...she was going to miss him. "When do you leave?"

"Day after tomorrow. It won't be so long," he whispered with an encouraging smile.

"Says you," she whispered back, looking down. Since when had she become so dependent upon him? On his company, his touch, his advice? A few days was starting to sound like a long time...

"You look as if you think I'm never coming back," Kiomo said with a soft chuckle. "You'll have me back in a few days. And you have me all night tonight."

Her smile was a little more genuine this time. "And don't forget the early part of the morning." She loved it when they both seemed to stir around the same time, sharing little touches here and there until they were both awake enough for those touches to turn into kisses.

"How can I possibly forget the mornings?" he grinned, reaching a finger down her collar and pulling her closer. "I look forward to waking up the mornings when I can wake up next to you."

Gleniel didn't resist his gentle pulling, and soon she was resting lightly on top of him, looking down into his face. Faranth...he was so handsome.
Softly she trailed her fingers through the wealth of his hair, remembering a time when she had only dreamed of doing this. And now she could caress him there, and do so much more...

He smiled gently up at her as his fingers slipped along the hem of her tunic, brushing her skin lightly, almost teasingly. "We have all night, Glen. And when I get back we can make up for all the time we've missed."

Her fingers followed a smiliar path, tracing his sides, then--almost shyly--slipping lower below his belly button. "Hopefully the timing's just right where we can make up for it on a restday." She pressed a kiss to his lips. "That way there won't be so many..." another kiss, "...time restrictions."

"Don't worry," he murmured against her lips. "I'm sure... we'll find plenty of time... no matter what day I get back. I'll make sure of it."

"Good." She buried her nose into the curve of his neck, hands hovering on his belt buckle.

He turned to kiss her forehead softly. "Are you all right?" Kiomo asked softly. She seemed subdued, sad even.

She nuzzled against him. "Of course. I guess, like you, I've had a long day. But what better way to end one, right?" Her eyes glinted knowingly up into his.

"I can't think of a better way," he grinned as he rolled over on top of her. "Well, I suppose we'd better get started. I have a feeling it's going to be a loooong night."
