Description: D'wrayt tells Knara that Ayrati will be fine.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 12, day 8 of Turn 3
After reassuring himself that his oldest daughter was fine, D'wrayt headed down to check on his middle daughter and grandchildren. He hoped they hadn't been scared if they saw their mother fall like that. He knew they were under the best care since his aunt was there as well as his youngest daughter as well. He talked to his aunt for a few moments and found out that Reyina had gone back to his weyr for the night. She hadn't done that in awhile, which meant that she had been rather frightened by the events.
The children had mostly settled down for the night. The boys were still awake and wanted to play Weyr with their aunt. They had several stuffed dragons that their grandda had given them that were lined up along a block wall. "Where are they going, Geryn?" Knara asked.
"They're off to fight Thread!" the four turn old replied as his six turn old brother nodded and picked up a dragon.
"Who's the Weyrleader?" Knara asked knowing what they'd say.
"Grandda!" the boys replied in unision.
The greenrider laughed and watched them play as her thoughts turned to her sister. She hoped that the healers were able to stop the bleeding and that there weren't any lasting effects. Hydrazineth had stayed with Kaezioluth for awhile, but was now back in their weyr sleeping. She should do the same, but her mind was abuzz with worry. She was so engaged in her thoughts and watching the boys play that she didn't even hear D'wrayt come in.
He stood in the doorway watching them for a few moments. Knara was so good with children, but he didn't think that she would ever have any of her own. She was too dedicated to being a dragonrider to have time to birth a child. He couldn't wait for the day that she made Wingthird. She had always been the one who had something of value when it came to drills. He thought that she often tried to prove that she had what it took and wasn't getting by on who she was related to.
"Hey hatchlings." he said quietly so as not to awaken the girls who were asleep nearby. Geryn happily clamored into his outstretched arms and hugged him for a few moments before rejoining his older brother on the floor.
Knara looked up from where she was flying the dragon for Wulkiryn and smiled tiredly. For a moment she looked like a child herself, but her voice broke the Weyrleader's memory of his little girl. "How is she?" she asked her voice strained and tired sounding.
"She's resting. It was a miscarriage. I know she'll be find physically, but I don't know about her mental state. I'll get a mindhealer in to see her as soon as she's feeling better." he said sharing his daughter's sigh of relief.
"Good. I told her that she needed to make a decision, but she couldn't make up her mind."
"What do you think she would have done?"
"She would have kept the baby because she couldn't bring herself to get rif of it. I don't see what the big deal is. If it's unwanted then there's no sense in carrying the baby through." she replied after a moment's thought. She didn't know exactly what her father's stance was on going /between/ to rid pregnancies, but she figured he wouldn't have a problem with it.
