Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 12 of Turn 3

"U'kaiah?" Gently, Traelyn perched on the edge of the bed, her hand
reaching out to lightly shake his shoulder.

"What?" U'kaiah groaned as he rolled over to face her. "Oh, it's you
again. I thought you had left," he mumbled sleepily.

She wrinkled her nose at him. "I did." Shooting a glance over her
shoulder to where Kalamath and Nyith rested, she bit her lower lip and
turned back to him. "We'd just gotten home when Ikoladith started
blooding." Traelyn ran her fingers through her hair, her voice growing
softer. "I needed to get Nyith out of there."

"So you thought you'd come here and wake me up again, huh?" the
bronzerider grumbled, but there was a hint of a smile on his lips though.
"Well, fine, I'll keep you company. But only if you make yourself
useful." He reached over and snaked an arm around her waist pulling her
back onto the bed. "Get over here, you."

A startled yip escaped her, and before she knew it, she was lying flat on
her back, staring wide-eyed up at his ceiling.

The bronzerider chuckled as he wrapped his arm tighter around her middle
and snuggled his head down on her chest. "There, you can use the pillows.
I'm using you. You're comfortable," he muttered with a contented sigh.

"You mean my breasts are comfortable," she mumbled, but a grin was
starting to twitch at her lips. Men!

"Well, yes, they happen to be there," U'kaiah chuckled. "I'd try and move
them for you, but I think you'd object. To be honest, though, I really
pity you girls."

"Pity _us_? Why do you pity us, U'kaiah?"

"Well, you know. Men's chest are just so... muscley. They're hard and
flat. You girls don't know what you're missing! I mean, women's chests
are so comfortable," he said as he snuggled his head down further.
"You're head is just cradled so nicely right here. And it has nothing to
do with sex either, and I know you probably think that's what I'm thinking
about. But women's chests are just so soft and inviting. I could sleep
all night right here."

She couldn't help it - she started to laugh. "If you had any idea how you
sound right now," Traelyn grinned, her hand snaking around to
briefly cup the back of his neck. "And if what you're saying is _true_,
then I finally know why the bronzerider wooes the women of the Weyr." Her
tone teased him as her fingers rubbed affectionately at the base of his
neck - and she wondered when they had last cast everything aside and just
_talked_ to each other about mundane things. Not that she could really
call this conversation _mundane_...it was far too amusing to call it that.

"Seriously," U'kaiah muttered as he wrapped his arm more tightly around
her. "If you knew just how comfortable a woman's chest could be, you
would forsake men forever." Shards, but her fingers were rubbing just the
right spot. It had been a while since he could just enjoy a woman's
company without any ulterior motives or feelings getting in the way. He
had truly missed Trae...

"Ah, but you're forgetting one tiny detail," she told him, tapping one
nail gently against his neck before her fingers resumed their rubbing. "I
happen to love men." She raised her eyes to the ceiling thoughtfully.
"And men's chests," she grinned as if in afterthought.

"Doesn't all that hair get scratchy and itchy?" he asked as his eyes
drifted shut a bit. "I would think it would rather annoying."

"Mmm." Her fingers slid higher up on his neck and into his hair. "It
might be scratchy, but I wouldn't say it's _itchy_..."

"Still," he mumbled in lethargic bliss, "if I found a woman with copious
amounts of chest hair, I'm not so sure I'd be all excited to rest my head
on it." She could keep running her fingers through his hair all night...

Traelyn gave an inelegant snort. "On a woman, I suppose it would be a big
turn-off for you, wouldn't it?" Then a wicked smile curved her lips. "But
on a man...sometimes it can be sexy."

"Yeah, women do seem to like to play with it a lot. Personally, I think
there are so many other fun things to play with that are much more
interesting." He ran his fingers along her side for emphasis.

She squirmed, lightly slapping his questing hand in a half-hearted
warning. "I'm sure you do," came her dry reply.

"Hmmm," U'kaiah sighed contentedly as he wrapped his arm firmly around her
again, giving her an affectionate squeeze. "Dolphin Cove needs more golds
rising. I could really get used to you visiting more often."

"You could always come to Dolphin Cove and visit me sometimes too." She
wrapped a black curl around her finger and gently tugged on it, her voice
growing soft again. "We used to have a lot of fun together, U'kaiah. I
miss that."

"Yeah," U'kaiah nodded against her. "We sure did, didn't we." He really
missed those times too. They both had been way too serious since she left
Dragonsfall. "I guess that's something we'll have to do something about."

Traelyn smiled. "I think so."

"All right," U'kaiah said resolutely as he put his weight on his hand so
he could push himself to look at her. "I'll tell you what. Next
restday, I'm going to come to Dolphin Cove and kidnap you. How does that
sound?"

She grinned at him. "Aren't you missing the point of the 'kidnapping'
thing? You aren't supposed to _tell_ the person you're going to kidnap
them because then it really isn't a kidnap." Pausing, she tilted her head
to the side and studied the mischevious glint in his eyes. "It's more
like a warning."

"Well, I happen to know I'm not the only bronzerider vying for your time,"
U'kaiah said as he settled himself comfortably back down. "I wouldn't
want to arrive and find someone else had got there first. It would spoil
all my plans."

"Mmm." She began to run her fingers through his hair again. "So you have
plans already, then?"

"Mmmhmmm," he hummed, enjoying the feeling of her fingers playing with his
hair.

"And you're not going to tell me, are you?"

"Nope. Just wear pants and boots you can walk in."

"As if I'd wear anything that wasn't comfortable," she muttered, making a
face at the top of his head.

The bronzerider had no reply other than his gentle snoring.
