Nohria was well past the point of no return. She had made a weird, despairing peace with that ever since she had been forced to concuss a guard and half-blind another with a powdered herb mix that included some milder spices. So even though she continued to send desperate women to her fellow bandits when the now rare opportunity presented itself, fed information to Goulan and the others, broke or picked locks (she was getting better at picking simpler locks thanks to those hides she had been given months ago), and sabotaged weapons, Nohria knew it wouldn't last. Not when she was so in love with Corran; not when some of the bandits had started drifting away, heading for Malachite Gulch. They wanted more immediate results, and working for Lady Siya directly seemed to promise that. Many of the women from Amber Hills were going with their new men, or going alone, in order to avoid being caught and forced to come back.
Thus, whenever Nohria had the time, she also prepared herself. If someone carelessly left behind an eighth-Mark or a sixteenth-Mark after a card game, she stole it and hid it in her trunk, along with preserved and packed herbs that she could harvest, swipe, or barter for. And even though she didn't want to, Nohria also mixed up more of the same poison she had smuggled Dannarr, if the absolute worst case scenario came to pass. Malin had been getting thorough training in fetching things for her, so no one would be able to keep it from her. She hoped she wouldn't need it, like she had hoped Dannarr wouldn't need it, but nowadays, she had no idea. She even eyed up the runnerbeasts when she had a chance, deciding which one wouldn't be missed if she had to make a faster getaway, and tried to figure out where she might go.
And last, she wrote two letters and hid those in her trunk as well. One was to Jisalle, saying *Thank you for the honor of being able to work for you.* The other was to Corran, saying *I love you. That much is the truth.*
Then, all that was left was to enjoy her time with those people while she could, as best she could. It was what Nohria had, and she would make the most of it for however long it would last.
She couldn't help but feel that wouldn't be long at all, though. All things had an end.
