Description: R'axe meets Paetri at the beach and appreciation occurs...
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 6 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: J'kri, Rorela
Paetri laid back in the sun, luxuriating in the heat. Clad in a very
brief swim suit given to her by Rorela and without anyone around, she
sprawled out on the blanket, completely relaxed. J'kri had told her
about the beach, even suggested it she go to relax on her own, and he
had been right. She had swam in the waves with Camilth and now simply
just _was_.
She wiggled her toes and slowly rolled with a sigh onto her stomach.
The sun felt good on her back and she rested her head on her arms,
quite content to just stay there for the day and let the sound of the
waves lull her to sleep.
R'axe was surprised to see someone on the beach when Jayth coasted
into the water for a wet landing. He didn't normally go there alone,
but J'kri was busy and he hadn't really felt like fishing around for
someone else to go with him.
}:Camilth, lovely to see you.:{ Jayth greeted the green pleasantly as
R'axe unstrapped himself and swam to shore.
There was a small twinge of emotion in R'axe's chest, that he didn't
wish to identify, as he realized that J'kri had told Paetri about
their place on the beach. **Don't be petty, you're a grown man.**
"Paetri." He smiled as he padded up onto the beach where she was laying.
}: Hello, Jayth. Coming to swim with me?:{ The green amiably sidled up
to the blue, flicking water over him with a playful swipe of her tail.
The sun was like a drug. Feeling lax and half asleep, Paetri didn't
even move to cover herself like she normally would have. It was just
too comfortable and relaxing. She recognized the voice almost
immediately and lifted her head slowly, blinking her eyes to try to
focus. R'axe. She should have been blushing at her state of undress,
but he'd made it clear that he wasn't interested, so she decided in
that instant that she wasn't going to worry about it. All of her bits
and pieces were covered. "Oh, hello, R'axe." Her voice was slurred
slightly from her half-drowse.
R'axe could not help but cast an appreciative eye over Paetri's figure
as he took a seat beside of her in the sand. Her olive skin glowed in
the sun, and he noted a more feminine curve to her body than he had
seen before, back when J'kri's greenrider friend had died. That had
been an incredibly awkward moment for R'axe, when Paetri had extended
R'axe an invitation to join her and J'kri.
At the time Paetri had looked so... _young_, which had been the main
reason he'd declined her offer.... Of course that probably seemed like
a weak excuse since R'axe had never had an issue with J'kri's age.
"What brings you out here by yourself?" He asked conversationally as
he began peeling off the wet clothing he sported- curtsey of Jayth's
water landing.
She lowered her head back to her arms, wiggling her toes against the
warm blanket. Her eyes closed again with a slight smile. "I needed
some time just to get some sun and relax." She heard the 'plop plop'
of wet clothing, but didn't open her eyes, assuming that he was simply
getting comfortable into his swim gear. "J'kri said it was a really
nice place."
R'axe's lips twisted a bit as he thought back to the time he and J'kri
had spent on the beach. **The sunburn was worth it.**
"I bet he did." He replied as he spread his clothes out to dry and
then stretched himself out onto the warm sand, his burnished skin
sparkling with beads of water as he squinted up at the sun.
She made a mumbling sound and feeling warm enough on her back, slowly
rolled over, settling on her back. She lazily stretched one leg, then
the other. "You two spend a lot of time together. He really likes
being with you when he can." She murmured softly. There was no trace
of jealousy in her voice, just stating a fact.
A part of R'axe could not help but be pleased by that information.
"Yes, well, J'kri is rather special, isn't he?" It felt good to know
that J'kri enjoyed spending time with him, and having that confirmed
by an outside source, because R'axe knew without a doubt how much
J'kri cared for Paetri.
"Yes. Yes he is." She nodded and settled her arms behind her head, her
face tilting upward to catch the sun. She fell silent for a long
moment. "This is so nice...this beach. I could stay here all day." A
smile lifted her lips, grateful for time away from the much colder
Weyr.
R'axe found his eyes traveling the length of Paetri's form as she
stretched, appreciating the female body in all its glory, "Yes, it is
quite nice." He murmured.
Paetri didn't see his eyes on her, so she thought his words were
simply that. Words. Something did trouble her though. He had stayed
away from J'kri for a while after she had made her bumbling
proposition and she hadn't really seen him since. "Hey, R'axe?" She
finally opened her eyes and was surprised to see him watching her.
That was really odd. "I'm sorry. You know, about what I did before. I
didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, but I'm glad you and J'kri got
past it."
"No. I should be the one apologizing. It wasn't you, and I do mean
that. I was just... overwhelmed by the entire ordeal. Your friend had
just died, and I had sworn off any type of relationships, and then
here were two people... needing me." R'axe shrugged, setting off a
chain of muscles rippling beneath his skin. "I'm over it now. I've
stopped worrying about seeing J'kri 'too' much. I want to be able to
enjoy people while I can." This time there was no denying the innuendo
in the bluerider's voice as he turned his eyes back to Paetri.
"I understand." At least she thought she did. It had seemed about her
though, like she had driven him off and she'd felt bad about it. She
blinked as the innuendo slid over her skin and even in the sun, her
skin prickled in gooseflesh and her body visibly reacted. She looked
at him, clearly surprised as a bit of a flush crept over her cheeks.
She hadn't even thought of her bathing suit until that point and he
was definitely looking now. Was he hinting at what she thought he was?
The thought flickered through her mind that J'kri certainly enjoyed
him, but what would he think if...She'd only ever been with J'kri
except for that one flight. Not knowing M'shan had make it a little
awkward afterwards. But J'kri had said that he'd be alright if she
wanted to explore too. Her voice was soft. "I thought that you didn't
like me in that way. That you liked men more."
"It was just an easy excuse at the time." The man's blue eyes were
searing as he reached out to trail a finger up the ladder of Paetri's
ribcage. "I appreciate women as much as I do men." It usually all
depended upon the personality involved. Right now everything in
R'axe's being said that Paetri's sun kissed body was what he wanted.
She gave a quick breathy inhalation as he touched her, the light
tracing making her visibly shiver. Slowly sitting up to face him, her
eyes widened as she realized that he was actually fully naked. Her
cheeks flushed a bit more, but she didn't hide her eyes like she might
have months ago. Instead, the sight made her warm and she sucked in
her lower lip. Feeling a bit bold, she reached out and laid her hand
on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his skin. "And... you want to
appreciate me?"
"Yes, I do." There was a husky quality to the man's baritone timbre as
he reached up and gently trailed his fingers through Paetri's long,
dark silky hair. Usually worn in a braid, R'axe marveled at how
alluring Paetri was with her hair cascading around her face and over
her shoulders. "You have beautiful hair, Paetri. You should wear it
down more often."
She stilled as he touched her hair and her face remained flushed, but
now it was not only from being shy, but from growing arousal. She
swallowed and her voice was low and throaty. "It's easier to take care
of in a braid." Her hair was the last thing she normally thought of
and now, she couldn't help but simply want him. She'd only ever wanted
J'kri, but now, she wanted him. Paetri lifted her hand from his
shoulder, sliding it to the back of his neck. With a mixture of desire
and curiosity, she leaned to press her lips against his and found that
his lips were warm and alluring.
It was all the invitation R'axe needed. Gently weaving his fingers
into Paetri's hair, he cupped her head to guide the kiss, allowing him
to deepen her initial, searching touch. Most greenriders, in Raxe's
opinion, tasted and acted as though they had been ridden hard and put
away wet but Paetri, young charming Paetri, was a tantalizingly sweet
morsel. It left the bluerider wondering why he had ever refused her
offer in the first place.
He was different than J'kri, was her first thought. He tasted
different, felt different, even smelled different, but the differences
were so enticing. As he deepened the kiss, she stopped thinking as
much, surrendering to his experienced touch and kiss with a soft
little moan against his mouth. Her hands went to his chest to explore
muscle and without a thought, slowly laid back beside him, her arms
around his neck.
R'axe ran his hand down over Paetri's side and hip, relishing in the
way the sun made her skin feel like warm silk. That was the major
difference between sleeping with a man, and then sleeping with a
woman. A man was smooth and hard, usually, with muscle, whereas a
woman was velvety soft and lush with curves. R'axe couldn't say which
he preferred more.
Out in the water Jayth's eyes whirled a corresponding color of deep
purple to match the mixture of lust and pleasure that R'axe was
feeling.
She shivered with pleasure under his touch. Faranth, it felt so good!
Too good to feel guilty or hesitant about it. J'kri had said she could
play too, so she would. Tossing aside any reservations, she slid her
hands down his back, kneading the muscle she found and then lifted a
long leg to hook it over his hips. He felt good, he smelled good and
she wanted more. She spoke against his mouth, her voice husky.
"R'axe... touch me..please."
It was a request that R'axe was only too happy to fulfill as he made
slow, passionate love to Paetri beneath the sun.
