Description: Dawyn goes to pick up firelizard eggs from Fieyz.
Location: Smith Hall (NPC)
Date: month 10, day 16 of Turn 3
Dawyn glanced furtively around him before he knocked the door. He was not supposed to be here and at this time of the day too. If the hallmaster caught him, he would gut him with a dull knife.
Fieayz opened the door a crack. "Can I help you?" she asked, not recognising the man stood there.
"Miss Fieayz? I'm journeyman Dawyn. I heard you have flit eggs available? I would like to get one," Dawyn answered.
Well he certainly was straight to the point, she thought. and it was true, she did need to find people to take the eggs. Daynar would have her hide if they ended up with people in the hall itself. "Are you Keles' husband?"
"Yes, I am. You're been in contact with her?" Dawyn nodded and flashed a quick smile.
"I met her the other day," replied Fieayz, smiling back. "And your gorgeous little boy too."
"Kellwyn is a guite a little charmer," Dawyn said with full of paternal pride.
"He reminds me of my own baby brother," said Fieayz.
Dawyn nodded and switched for foot to foot nervously. "The eggs? I don't have much time, class starts soon." He could small-talk like anybody when he had time, but now he was in a rush. He had stolen a moment between classes, and he was pretty sure the master of apprentices would hear if he was late showing up to his teaching duties.
"Of course," she opened the door enough for him to come in. "Please come in and see."
Dawyn entered gingerly. "So, do you have any idea when the eggs are suposed to hatch?" he asked.
"Around about the twenty second," she said, leading the way over to the hearth where she had placed the eggs. They were well wrapped, and it took her a moment to uncover the remaining eggs.
"They are so pretty," Dawyn gasped. "Like gemstones."
"Anmd just as precious," said Fieayz. "I'd not be without Arva now."
"Do you ask a price for them?" Dawyn asked.
"No," she said, having not really considered that before. "I just want people to look after them properly."
"You know, I've wanted a flit ever since Keles got her Blade," Dawyn said. What he couldn't understand, was why she wanted another one? Wasn't one enough? She had Kellwyn too to take care of.
"Well there are just three eggs left, so take your pick."
Dawyn looked at the three eggs for a long moment. They all looked to be of same size and although colorations were different, nothing told him what kind of flit was sleeping inside. Finally he picked the two he thought were prettiest.
"Are these all right with you?" the smith asked, showing the eggs to Fieyaz.
"That's fine," she said.
"Thank you. We'll keep good care of these."
"I'm sure you will." She studied the journeyman for a moment, Keles was a lucky woman no doubt, he seemed so nice. "Do you have something to put them in?"
"Yes, they should stay warm enough in my workshop, near the ceramic-oven. And then I have some heat-preserving containers to keep them," Dawyn answered and smiled.
"And you know to keep some scraps handy, for when they hatch?"
"Yes. And lot's of loving thoughts, right?"
"That's right."
"I think I can manage that. Thank's again, I must get going now," Dawyn grinned.
"Good luck with them," she said.
"Thank's, we'll let you know what they hatched out to be," Dawyn replied and slipped out of the room.
