K'mai made his way to the food and nibbled a few things here and there
before getting another glass of wine. He scanned the crowd, wondering
what to do next. Hatching Feasts were generally much the same, but
being the Weyrwoman's escort had certainly made this a different
experience.

"A bluerider on a goldrider's arm. How did you manage that?" R'axe
asked as he approached the River Bluff dragonrider that he'd seen
walking around. K'mai had first caught R'axe's attention for purely
physical, lust-filled reasons, but then when he had realized that the
woman the bluerider was walking with was none other than the River
Bluff _Weyrwoman_. Well, that certainly put a different spin on
things, didn't it?

"I'm _very_ charming," K'mai said, looking R'axe over appreciatively.
The knots marked him as a bluerider which meant the appreciation might
be mutual.

R'axe flashed the other bluerider a smile, one of those that typically
melted the knees of the viewer, "I have no doubt of that. But I would
think it might get a little boring being shuffled around all night.
Especially when you could be showed around the Weyr by someone is
equally charming." He winked.

"I was going to ask you for a dance, but a tour... that sounds very
inviting." K'mai was already imagining running his hands down the
man's chest.

Another winning smile was aimed at K'mai, "I suppose we could work in
one dance before I show you around."

"Is this a way to get yourself attached to the gossip about me?" K'mai
teased as he offered an arm.

R'axe laughed as he led K'mai out to where the other dances were,
"Trust me, there is plenty of gossip about me without borrowing more. Besides,
what's to gossip about two blueriders dancing together? That's normal.
A bluerider and a goldrider.... Not so much."

"For turns I've said that blueriders are more fun than bronzeriders,
and finally at least one goldrider believes it." K'mai lightly gripped
the other man's waist. The contact was practically innocent but it
sent a flicker of heat through him.

"Does she? I've always heard that the River Bluff Weyrwoman just likes
to get attention, no matter what it takes. Is she that way?" He asked
K'mai curiously as they began moving in time to the music with the
other dancers.

"Hmm." K'mai tilted his head slightly. "I think there's some truth to
that, but she _did_ invite me because I'm fun."

R'axe looked at K'mai appreciatively, "Oh, I have no doubt that you
are fun." He couldn't wait to see exactly how fun the other man was
once he'd gotten him somewhere private.

"Come to that conclusion already?" K'mai leaned closer. "I haven't
even started yet."

Oh how R'axe hoped that was true. They would find out soon enough. The
tune that was struck up by the harpers was a fast, lively jig that
left its participants flushed and panting for air when it came to an
abrupt halt orchestrated by the band. Laughing, R'axe slid his arm
back around K'mai's waist, "Well if nothing else our muscles are nice
and warmed up."

"Mmm." Acting on impulse, K'mai leaned in and kissed him. "Ready to
show me some of the interesting sites around the Weyr?" K'mai was more
then ready to do some... exploring.

The kiss ignited the already heightened sense of desire that was
coursing through R'axe's veins and he shot K'mai a heated grin as he
took the other bluerider's hand and tugged him away from the crowd. "I
know the perfect place to begin." There was an alcove in the upper
heights of the Weyr with a window that was cut out to over look the
surrounding, frozen countryside. It was the perfect place for a little
love-making, R'axe knew this from experience. Of course you did run
the risk of someone coming by and catching you there, but that only
seemed to add a little more excitement.

K'mai laughed and eagerly followed. He was quite glad he'd agreed to
come along with Rhosyn and hoped the Weyrwoman wouldn't miss him for a
while. In a low voice he told R'axe, "And I know a few places you can
finish."

**Faranth bless the Weyrwoman that decided to bring a bluerider with
her to a Hatching!** R'axe thought with anticipation as he led K'mai
up to the alcove.

K'mai ran a hand along R'axe's chest. "Well, you're as good as you
look." He'd started out enjoying the view out the window, arms and
chest pressed against the cold stone, but decided he'd rather enjoy
the view of R'axe so they'd ended up on the floor.

"And you weren't lying, you are fun." R'axe grinned, his face flushed
from exertion, his blonde hair, normally combed neatly back, had
fallen into his eyes.

K'mai reached up to brush a strand from his face. "Rhosyn will
probably be looking for me soon. Maybe we could do this again
sometime? If you come to River Bluff I can show you some of our
interesting sites."

R'axe did not often have any reason to be at River Bluff, but he
supposed now that he knew K'mai, he could make a reason. "I do love
site seeing." A grin tugged at his lips as he sat up and reached for
his shirt, the only article of clothing he had truly been divested of
during their foray.

"Good. I look forward to seeing you again." K'mai tugged up his
trousers. "Oh, I forgot to ask your name. Left me without something
specific to shout." He chuckled.

"My apologies, my name is usually where I begin the evening," he
grinned, and then gave K'mai a jaunty, two-finger salute. "I am R'axe.
Now you'll be ready for next time."

"R'axe," K'mai repeated to help him remember the name. He certainly
wouldn't forget the man himself. "I'm K'mai. It was a pleasure."

"I assure you, the pleasure was mutual." A sultry grin spread across
R'axe's face.
