Description: This is what happens his first morning as a weyrling.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 12, day 8 of Turn 7
}:Wake up:{
Rolling over, he shifted his head back onto the other side of the pillow.
Two mumbles came, then no more.
}:Wake up now:{
Sighing, the weyrling pulled his bedfurs over his shoulders and burrowed
down into them. Then, he felt a pain
in his shoulder. The pain wouldn't go away. Opening his eyes, he saw a
headknob jabbing into his shoulder.
Gradually, he became aware enough to feel a terrible hunger pain in his
belly that wasn't going away. It was
only getting worse. Blinking, he felt the bedfurs disappearing, sliding down
the side of the cot.
}:I am hungry!:{ That was punctuated by a short bugle that made R'gelen's
head ring. Then he was face to face
with whirling red eyes and it surprised him so much he yelled and backed up,
breathing heavy.
"Faranth! You scared me!" His chest heaved. It took a few moments before he
stood up and blearily went about
finding some trousers and a tunic. He'd forgotten that he'd Impressed. He'd
forgotten all of it. And now here he
was, in the weyrling barracks with a dragon. One who currently seemed to be
considering whether or not he was
going to bite his face off if he didn't get any food soon.
}:Well I am hungry. And you are slow. So move it:{ Iroth thrust his tail
around before growling. Moments later, he
was following R'gelen down the hall of the barracks, ignoring his
clutchmates ignominiously. He had one thing on
his mind-food. Naturally, that became the sole focus on his rider's mind as
well. }:I come first. Then you have yours:{
**So that's how it is?** R'gelen answered almost cynically.
}:Yes it is.:{ Iroth replied, brooking no further reply.
Thankfully, they reached the tables which were already set up. This first
day he didn't have to worry about tearing the
carcass completely apart. He just needed to cut pieces off the side of meat
already there. The farmboy in him didn't worry.
He just took up the butcher knife and started slicing, oblivious of the
blood. Iroth watched him, then opened his maw when
a slice was ready. R'gelen could feel his belly filling, though it took a
long time for the bronze to feel full.
When he did, his eyes whirled a happy blue and the two of them turned around
to figure out that no one else was awake
yet. Sighing, the weyrling looked wistfully back in the direction of his
cot. "Please?"
}:We can rest till everyone else wakes. I am not hungry anymore:{ Following
behind him again, Iroth went back into the
wallow. R'gelen got up into the cot and burrowed again into the furs-this
time with his trousers still on. The tunic went
into the floor since it was covered in blood. The small bronze made himself
comfortable, ready to sleep again after feeding.
He had blood all down his face from his messy eating.
