Tavia

Tavia

She woke before she even opened her eyes and she lay there for a few
moments before it came back to her where she was. Even then she didn't
open her eyes but felt the weight of the other rider snug against her
back. His breathing was even so he might still be asleep. She opened
one eye to see the sun fading from the sky. So she twisted her neck
slowly around to see who it was.

It had been a truly spectacular Flight. That much he could remember,
even if the green that Chridheth had chased escaped his name for the
moment. His blue was popular with the greens - of all kinds - and
waking up next to someone he didn't know well and didn't regularly
sleep with was not unusual for D'aon. He enjoyed the opportunity to
try out new things between the furs with new partners, at least with
the ones who wanted to stay for a second round.

He was currently curled around a warm, soft, curvy body that screamed
female and a possessive arm crept out to trail along flesh of hips
that were under his hand.

His eyes, still closed, suddenly snapped open with a sharp shock.

}:Sawauth, yes.:{ came the sleepy confirmation from Chridheth.

He felt her stirring at the same moment that he had realized who he
had been touching.

As their eyes met, his voice came out soft, husky with restrained
dragonlust still coursing through his body from the soft, wonderful
feel of her.

"You, is it?" The only words for his expression would be a feline
licking its lip with delight after a particularly tasty snack.

"Lovely." More came out without him being consciously aware of it
and his mouth parted with desire starting to well in him again.

She took a deep breath and sat up. She would be civil even if he
couldn't seem to manage it. "It was a wonderful flight, thank you,"
she quoted from her training. Not that she meant a word of it.

Ahh, but it _had_ been wonderful if the complete satisfaction
radiating from his blue and his own body.

He didn't move right away and even his normal snottiness was overcome
by the lust he felt watching her move. "It was wonderful." He
made it sound like a caress and followed it with a light touch on a
piece of skin that he could reach, even as she sat up and appeared to
be leaving.

"Stay, why don't you? Experiencing each other awake may prove
educational and enjoyable for us both." He though he _was_ being
civil, himself, but her contrariness probably assumed he was up to his
usual mean tricks.

The difference between men and women stared her in the face. He only
needed a place and stimulation while she needed more than just
stimulation. She needed a reason she needed to care. She tilted her
head. "Really? That all you've got?"

He was struck speechless. Oh this greenrider! She pushed all his
emotions and in all sorts of ways, good and bad.

So she wanted more, did she? His eyes lit with a fire that rarely
showed itself in his 'casual' life and he mentally accepted her
challenge. He was too smart not to realize she needed something else
from him, though he didn't quite know _what_. Emotionally tossing
caution and pride to the winds, he said the first things that came to
mind.

He took one of her hands and kissed the back of it gently, his body
reacting as strongly to that gentle touch as it had earlier with their
dragons intertwined.

"Please stay, Tavia. You are a fascinatingly wonderful creature who
can by turns drive me insane with aggravation and then mad with desire
and you don't even know you do it.... Please stay with me. I want
to love you awake, not lost in the mindless - though quite outstanding
- desire of our dragons. Stay for yourself, too, stay to enjoy ...
something.... special. Maybe we will never have this moment again,
but for now, we do. Please stay. "

It was honest enough, though he didn't know recognize the feelings for
what they were, just yet. All he knew was that he had glimpsed
something special during the Flight and he wanted a better look at
it... awake and giving her all the attention she deserved.

As he spoke her eyes grew large and she pushed down her immediate
instinct to flee the room. He was different than the arrogant and
aggravating man who took delight in digging at her with words like a
healers knife.

Of course the lust was still on her and she knew it contributed to her
reluctance to walk out. Besides that she couldn't deny the pull of his
masculinity. So she didn't try to pull away even though his touched
almost burned with it's intensity. She looked deeply into his eyes
and this time she saw something different, something that attracted
her. She leaned toward him and placed her lips on his.

He felt the surrender in her kiss and it sent a fresh jolt of desire
burning through him. He pulled her close to him, touching skin to
skin and feeling the fire spread from him to her. He rewarded that
sweet kiss with hands that were at once gentle and insistent, bringing
out all of his skill - learned from many Flight victories due to his
handsome blue - and more, he gave of himself in the way that he
_truly_ was, not an arrogant smart-arse. He gave her a glimpse of
her own into the sweet heart hiding behind all the bluster and temper.
It was clear in the way he molded his lips to hers, and his body to
hers, not forcing her to mold to him. It was clear in the way he
held her - strongly, but with all the gentleness of a baby feline.
It was clear in the slow deepening of that kiss that spoke more of
love than lust, though that emotion was far away for now. For now...
it was more... and he hoped, enough.

When the kiss ended some uncountable time later, he said softly, "Will
you choose me, Tavia? The way Sawauth chose Chridheth? Please..." He
wanted it to be her choice, or not at all. After so much of
treating her wrong, he wanted, at least for now, to treat her so very
right.

She looked into his eyes uncertainly. It had been very nice but how
long would the nice last? "For tonight," she said softly. "I choose
you."
