Though the Ancients who first settled Pern may have been rather tall compared to us now, we must bear in mind that height is determined by more than just genetics. Though they still have the same genetic predisposition to being taller or shorter, over the centuries due to lifestyle and dietary factors, in Triad we assume that the average height has gradually decreased once more. Therefore, it can be assumed that the average height for a Pern female would be about 5'2" (or 157 centimeters), and for a male it would be about 5'7" (or 170 centimeters), similar to what it would have been in the 1800s on Earth since they share a similar diet and work load.
