WEYR NEWS & HAPPENINGS

RBW News

It seems that there is a very persuasive greenrider at River Bluff. P'veas
was successful in getting K'mai to spend some time with him, it seems his
Sebeth needed convincing that Mavikath liked him. K'mai also managed to make
a young candidate blush, it seems that Shayla is not yet accustomed to the
plain talk of the Weyr. K'mai also spent some time helping Abrei after his
last visit to the infirmary proved so disruptive.

Brownrider L'keri's young son Arten gave his foster parents the slip and ran
into Shayla in the stables. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how
you look at it, L'keri was able to track the young man down. Shayla also met
Tiya, who offered to show her around the Weyr.

Weyrhealer Abrei and R'han have been spending some time together, their
relationship seems to be deepening, despite unexpected interruptions from a
sleep deprived Weyrwoman. Abrei and Ariadne also spent some time together,
it seems that the young healer may be pregnant, but is unsure of just who
the father may be.

The Weyrwoman had things to discuss with the Weyrleader. Tsaera and K'sedel
had a polite disagreement about who won the little wager they had on the
number of eggs that Tabarnith would clutch. After some discussion, it seems
that K'sedel conceeded the point at last, and Tsaera will be getting her
flowers.

There will be a hatching soon at River Bluff, and plots galore. Feel free to
come and join the madness and mayhem, all will be welcome.

DCW News

The Dolphin Cove Weyrleaders are on the point of announcing the event of
next month - a Great Drill, in which Wings will compete against one another
with the hope of being declared the best in the Weyr. But will everything go
according to plan? The betting starts now!

New Candidate Dacrasalar has had a warm welcome to Dolphin Cove; he was
greeted by his fellow candidate Doren, green weyrling Oria and Wingsecond
O'dan, who between them have made him feel quite at home!

And the gossip this month is all about the romantic tension between
bronzerider J'darin and the Weyrwoman. Could their mutual attraction be the
key to J'darin's hope of becoming Weyrleader? Or are they simply too far
apart in personality and belief for the relationship to be successful? We
look forward to finding out!

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Moriath, the senior queen, since it's not long
until she is due to rise. Will T'moran retain his Weyrleadership, or will
another bronzerider have his chance to lead the Wings? And who will Impress
the dragonets who will result from this Flight? With a Hatching sure to be
happening in the near future, now is a great time to join Dolphin Cove as a
Candidate.

DFW News.

Weyrwoman Jaela celebrated her birthday by having dinner with both D'wrayt
and D'brek. Both bronzeriders tried to suprise the goldrider and didn't
think to consult the other ending up having to be civil to one another. Much
to their suprise, Jaela kicked them both out after dinner leaving them to
their own devices.

Caellin and Yanrik seem to be mending their relationship. They spent some
quality time while having breakfast. Caellin confides to Yanrik her worries
over the young patient that isn't doing well. They discuss which would be
harder losing a child without warning or having some time to deal with the
fact that a child would die. They conclude that it would be hard either way.

Karaya and Ch'lvias had dinner and she gave him a jacket with star
constellations on it. The pair seem to have grown closer after their dragons
mated.

Healer Arilanna and H'tri had dinner after she treated a sore shoulder. The
two seemed to be attracted to one another. Perhaps there is a relationship
in the works?

X'reep and Sarian discuss the conversation he had with N'klar and then
Sarian brings up Jarri. Apparently Sarian and Harki aren't too thrilled with
X'reep being involved with Jarri and plan to take care of it.

Dayla catches D'mari and Trynia making out in the hallway. The greenrider
teases them and says she's not ready for any grandchildren yet. D'mari
protests that they are just practicing.

HOLD & CRAFTHALL NEWS

EFH News

The Lady Holder of Emerald Falls remains absent at Amethyst Cliff Hold, but
her gold firelizard appeared carrying a message asking for Master Healer
Miranek to attend on her in her labour. Her child was not the long hoped-for
Heir, but a baby girl, and - controversially - she has named the girl after
her husband's great enemy Lord Alalir.

There was trouble this month for Journeyman Healer Dikero, who was caught by
Lord Enrizial himself teaching one of the hold girls, Reilina, about his
craft. His fate is yet to be decided, but he will be lucky if he escapes
being banished from the Hold altogether.

With tension in the Hold and a serious rift between Enrizial and just about
every other location in the club, there is plenty of opportunity for
plotting at Emerald Falls, and new residents are more than welcome!

EFH-HH

Master Gridis' death was felt hard by the entire Harper Hall, but perhaps
not as keenly as by Calenta, who sung at the old Master's memorial. The
Memorial was well attended by not only the residents of the Harper Hall, but
journeymen who have returned to honour their old teacher - and by Lord
Enrizial, who perhaps felt a little out of place. Especially when Calenta
took the stage - a drudge and a woman, no less!

Times are changing at the Harper Hall, and now is the perfect opportunity to
create (or adopt) a character. Now that the Printer Hall is sharing space
with the harpers conflict is sure to arise.

GVH News:

Lots of undercurrents are starting to swirl about at Garnet Valley. Most of
them seem to be focused around the new Headwoman. She seems to be getting
more and more bitter as Lord Aswic seems to give Ryalane a bit more
attention. It seems that even Ryalane is finding some issue with the work of
the Headwoman as she has found some discrepancies in recent inventories and
stock and has reported it to Auren. Auren, in turn, has asked her to keep an
eye on the Headwoman as much as possible and report back to him.

Thalia also went to see the Headwoman, and somehow managed to stumble her
way into sensitive territory. Verora answered quickly enough, but the
conversation left Thalia feeling like an errant girl who was always in
trouble. Verora, on the other hand, was already making plans and wondering
what she could do to help forward her position within the Hold.

Ryalane and her husband, Briton visited his parents for dinner. On their way
back home, he let her know he had a surprise for her to celebrate the
anniversary of their wedding. This caused her to get upset as she'd
forgotten and not gotten him anything. She still feels he should find
someone else more suitable who will give him children, but he is adamant
about his love for her and refuses to set her aside. The Assistant Headwoman
made a promise to her husband to try to not be so prickly about things
before they went home so he could give her the surprise.

Briton took a report to Auren about the expected yield of their harvest for
that Turn, and received some orders from Auren on how to handle one of the
newest farmers. It seems they are right on track for the harvest, for the
most part, and plans are already being made as to what to do for the next
Turn and which fields to leave fallow. Both left the meeting fairly pleased
with the discussion.

The Lord Holder snuck away to see his lover while Kelvarand worked on his
garden. They discussed Thalia and her pregnancy and Aswic admitted to being
unsure of how to handle his wife...especially now that she was pregnant and
moody. Rand did his best to support Aswic, though he found it hard given the
nature of their relationship. However he gave Aswic the same support Aswic
had always given him during his many turns of marriage.

The cave-in has affected many around the Hold, but none so much as Sirela
who lost both her husband and her father. Ledan went to visit her and offer
what comfort he could, but she was having a hard time accepting that they
were gone. The healer was having a hard time with his own emotions as he
realized that some woman truly could remain true, despite his experiences in
his own failed marriage.

Thalia visited with Sirela as well. It seems they have a bit in common, both
expecting babies in the new month or so. They discussed pregnancy and names
and the Lady kept the conversation away from the mine collapse, not wanting
to dash Sirela's hopes that her husband and father had survived. The Lady
seems to be doing her best to tell herself she could be happy at Garnet
Valley, and even thinks that perhaps one day it may be true!

Later that month, Sirela gave birth to a healthy baby girl! However, the joy
of the event was overshadowed by the woman's realization that her husband
and father wouldn't be returning. She was sad to realize that she now had no
family but for her baby, Donela. Ledan made her promise to be strong,
however, for her daughter as he continued to marvel as how wonderful the
young woman was. When she offered to have him and his children over for
dinner, he didn't hesitate to accept.

As you can see, there is lots of action at Garnet Valley. So much going on
that even you can get involved. Contact Lexy if you have an idea for a
storyline or want to join the in the fun! She will find a spot for everyone!
And, keep tuned to all the posts to see what is going to happen next...

Things have changed drastically at the Smithhall recently. The old
Hallmaster, the son of a very progressive female Craftmaster, has been
transferred out since his mother passed away. In his place, Daynar, a very
traditional male Mastersmith has taken the reigns of the Hall firmly in
hand. The previous Hallmaster was much like his mother, even to considering
women for apprenticeships. Daynar couldn't be more unlike him. His attitudes
are out-dated, and the rumors are that his very first act upon being
installed as Hallmaster was to tear up any and all applications for
apprenticeships from females. When asked, he will say women do -not- belong
in Crafting, but they can certainly tend the Hold and home.

Life is looking to be the worse for wear at the Smithhall, except for those
male apprentices that shine in Daynar's eyes, and only time will tell if his
hidebound views will flourish in Lord Aswic's Hold.

Of late, Daynar has been running about, exchanging letters with a certain
Vintner Hallmaster and looking for a 'suitable' match for his young
daughter.

Now is a great time to come to the Smithhall! Daynar has four children, one
of them a disowned bluerider he refuses to awknowledge, and one a daughter
he treats like a piece of cattle. Make a character and join today!!

ACH News:

With Conclave having allowed the dissolution of his marriage to Jerandra,
Alalir was once again free to marry Lady Enriline and did so, surrounded by
a small gathering of friends and family this time, rather than the entire
Hold.

Alalir met Hallmaster Fielton when Fielton wished to dissolve is own
marriage and Alalir quickly agreed to assist him in that regard--and
suggested that he might marry again. Fielton in turn announced his desire to
hold a wine tasting in Lady Enrilines honor and Alalir quickly agreed.

A hold resident, Badia, visited Vintner Hall at the request of the hold Cook
so that she could pick up more of the Lord Holder's favorite vintage. There,
she met Hallmaster Fielton and impressed him with her demure qualities. The
Hallmaster was impressed enough to not only obtain the wines himself, but
allowed her a sample of one of the best vintages in his Hall. Badia decided
pretending to be demure had its advantages...and Fielton was left actually
considering Lord Alalir's suggestion.

And as usual, nothing _ever_ goes quite as planned at the Hold. Lady Lindria
went into labor and nervously entered labor for the birth of her first
child, with her worried husband at her side the entire time. Not to be
outdone, Lady Anaia of Emerald Falls _also_ went into labor, almost sending
Targe into hysterics. Luckily, a quick note was sent to Emerald Falls and
Master Miranek, who'd attended Anaia in the early stages of her pregnancy
was able to travel quickly enough to the Hold to ensure she was well cared
for as she gave birth to a baby girl. And so, the hold welcomed not only
Alajeran and Lindria's baby boy Calrian, but also Lady Anaia's baby girl,
named (somewhat controversially) Alalia. Lord Enrizial was noticably absent
despite his wifes birth of their child.

Lindria and Alajeran were adamant about taking care of Calrian themselves.
This decision was tested when Calrian treated them to a very early morning
wake up call. Both tired parents managed to get him fed, content and Lindria
sang husband and child back to sleep.

Lady Calanna of Opal Cove returned to the Hold quite abruptly and refused to
tell even her favorite cousin just _why_ she was back. When will she tell
them of her pregnancy and the fact that her husband has sent her away--and
knows that the child she carried cannot possibly be his? I'm sure all will
be revealed in time!

Make a hold crafter or resident today. Trust me, you won't be bored--or
lacking in eager coposters either!

ACH-VH News

Things are hopping at Vinter Hall. Miryene and Jhonnel have been spending a
bit more time together lately, though a bit too much wine led to a rather
inappropriate kiss.

Fielton's younger daughter has returned to Vinter Hall, wanting to prepare
herself to be a good wife to whatever man her father finds for her. She may
have an idea or two of what sort of man she'd like though--and apprentice
vinter Symion is determined to keep her attention on him, hoping having the
Hallmaster for a father by marriage will make his life a little easier.

Miryene has also been spending some time with Fieayz, as the Hallmaster's
daughter visits her baby brother. Fieayz has confessed to missing a
bronzerider she grew close to at River Bluff Weyr, and no words from Miryene
could convince her that seeing him again would be a horrible idea.

Fielton has finally decided to take care of business, and took it upon
himself to visit Alalir and request that the Lord Holder dissolve his
marriage. During their visit Fielton broached the idea of having a gathering
at Vinter Hall to celebrate Alalir's new Lady Holder. They've decided to
have the party at the end of month 4.

Alalir also mentioned to Fielton that he might do well to look for a new
wife of his own. Only a few days later Fielton stumbled across Badia, a
young girl whose demure act fooled Fielton into taking an interest in her.
Could he be thinking about replacing his wife sooner than anyone expected?
