Physical Description of Persona:
Ricker is a tall, thin man with piercing grey eyes, calloused fingers, and a hearty laugh. He is the sort of person who blends into a crowd, which he finds an advantage. He disdains jewelry for practical reasons, and his one concession to vanity is a meticulously shaved head. He's got a rather prominent receeding hairline, so better to be rid of it entirely.
Emotional Description of Persona:
Ricker tends to get lost in his projects. He is not good at work-life balance, mostly because he finds the if-then logic of electrical systems much more interesting and easier to fathom than the chaos of most social interactions. That being said, he is truly social and does like to spend time with people-- they are a forever-changing, impossible puzzle. He just sometimes forgets that other people have needs and interests outside of work.
History of Persona:
Born and raised in a small fishing cothold in the Northern Continent, Ricker was apprenticed to the Technician's Hall at ten-- his family lied about his age to get him in early. He thrived at the Hall, soon losing track of his family not so much out of spite but out of a sort of loving, benign neglect to maintain contact.
His quick mind and ability to focus for long periods of time meant that he sped through his apprenticeship and walked the tables at seventeen, although his Masters still thought he was older. Ricker decided to specialize in electrical systems and spent the next few Turns travelling from Hold to Hold in the North fixing generators and re-wiring systems.
When the call came to re-open High Reaches Weyr, Ricker answered. He spent several turns there and ended up earning his Senior Journeyman's knots as part of the project. He stayed on for a while to maintian the systems before answering the call for Journeymen in the rather insular South. He's spent the last few turns at Dream's End Weyr doing maintenance.
When he heard the call for the project at Dolphin Cove Weyr, the Journeyman jumped at the chance to get in at the beginning of such a major project.
