Physical Description of Persona:
A trim, toned, strikingly handsome guy with midnight blue eyes, A'kua is five feet, ten inches tall, and has honey-tanned skin. His hair is thick, wavy, dark red-gold, trailing just past his neck and getting in his face. His canine teeth make it seem as though he has fangs from certain angles. There is a diagonal scar between his eyebrows, and a horizontal one on his left cheekbone. Nearly identical Threadscore scars spiral around his forearms from his elbows to the backs of his hands, and two sets of fainter scars; one is a horizontal line across his forehead, and the other is four claw marks on the outside of his right wrist.

A'kua's voice is a surprisingly pleasant and layered tenor despite a backwoods accent, and he can manipulate it well, either in mimicry or projecting emotion. The accent becomes broader and trashier when he experiences extreme emotions. He wears dark shades of red and gray, and a deep blue browband, fingerless gloves and belt.

Emotional Description of Persona:
A'kua's strong-willed, jaded, sarcastic, cynical, not always tactful, literally sees red when he gets mad, and doesn't suffer fools if he can help it. Though he can and does trust others, he relies on himself the most, and sometimes he struggles with his temper. He wants to hear the truth, even if he doesn't always tell all of it personally. This is actually an improvement, believe it or not. Despite how he seems, A'kua is much happier than he was for Turns.

He has a softer side, too: There's some compassion and respect in him, though he largely saves it for animals, nice kids, and friends. He's possessive of, dependent on, and wholly devoted to the people he's come to care for, and he would do absolutely anything for them. Do him a good turn, and he'll think highly of you. He is also intelligent and observant, which means he's good at reading body language and facial expressions. It comes in handy when he wants to cheat at card games.

A'kua likes rock-climbing, a good sparring session, a good meal, a good workout, and a good challenge in chores or craft. He dislikes idiots, bigots, men who abuse women, and mornings.

History of Persona:
When Shastia, a resident of a backwater hold, was twenty, she joined a visiting Harper in bed, and he left at the end of the sevenday. Soon, it was obvious what had happened. Her fiancÚ broke their engagement, and her father only supported her in pity.

Growing up, Aluka didn't think the hold was so bad. Sure, there were some kids who picked on him for being a bastard, but he didn't care; he got really good at fighting thanks to them. As he matured and developed better observational skills, he realized that while not everyone in the hold was a complete moron, there was a lot left to be desired. For one, women were generally treated like garbage, and most people didn't much like him. Aluka knew it wasn't right, but he couldn't change anything; he could only lash out.

Shastia never fought her own ill treatment from other holders, instead turning to alcohol. Aluka's frustration and fury mounted, especially when he figured out she felt she deserved the verbal and emotional abuse. The tension started giving him headaches that ruined his rest and appetite. He tried to convince Shastia to leave with him in a trader caravan, but she refused, and died of alcohol poisoning shortly after Aluka turned sixteen, leaving him free to go. He read everything he could about wilderness survival, stole supplies and a gitar (impractical, yes, but he wanted one anyway), and some Marks just in case. Once prepared, he took off late one night, uncaring about Thread.

For two glorious sevendays, he was free. The headaches and tension disappeared, his rest was peaceful, and he was downright happy. But after another three days, Aluka admitted it wasn't an ideal lifestyle. He needed a real home and a purpose. By coincidence, he came across traders near the end of that sevenday, and on hearing they were going to Dragonsfall Weyr, he made up a clever lie and handed over nearly all his Marks to pay his way with them.

Life in the Weyr was great; the atmosphere wasn't harsh and judgmental, he didn't have to cook, and there were friends to make, though he wisely didn't mention he was out on his own before he met the caravan. When he learned how easy it was to become a Candidate, he figured why not? and joined the program.

Two years of growth, healing, finding solid friendships and true love, and letting go of the past later, his patience paid off: The last egg of gold Lissath's first clutch broke open, and Aluka became A'kua when the resulting bronze, Zeiranth, tackled him.

For once, everything is going A'kua's way. He might not show it much, but he finally feels good about his life. He just doesn't quite know what to do now that he has everything he wanted and more (the more being a bunch of expectations dumped in his lap).

Description of Dragon:
Zeiranth is a bright, brave, lively soul. He's convinced all's right with the world, and if by some chance it isn't, he knows his partner will make everything okay again. That simple fact is the source of his confidence. New experiences? He's all for it! Threadfall? No problem. Flying somewhere he's never been? Whoo-hoo, time for an adventure! Can we bring a picnic too? If A'kua is sharing it all with him somehow, Zeiranth will love it. While he's learned A'kua is only human, it hasn't shaken Zeiranth's love for and faith in A'kua. He'll enjoy classes as well, at least for the first half-hour or so. Then it's time for a nap, or asking his partner questions. He will make attempts at being stubborn as well, but more often than not, logic will sway his opinion.

Zeiranth is also a friendly and honest (but generally polite) sort who loves to people-watch, and gets on well with male dragons, but becomes bashful around several greens and golds. Once he's old enough to chase, though, he'll display his fondness for certain greens by being very physically affectionate.

He will grow to be average in nearly all ways for bronzes: Wingspan, muscle build, proportions, and ability to last in Thread, with slightly above average speed. His base color is a light coppery bronze that shades to dark bronze on his head, paws, and the tips of his tail. Mid-toned reddish-bronze patches ring his eyes, giving him a gaze that seems direct and piercing.
